I did a similar thing when I was a noob back in 2004 I sent a petition and I was refunded. Give it a try and see how it goes buddy, I think it will be ok.

also if you do petition, do not talk about the petition as it is against the EULA. just tell us if you can afford to stay as omega or if you have to downgrade to alpha. if its successful give us a wink and we will know what you're on about..

The trade window generates a warning message when the price you're trying to list an item for is well outside the regional average. NEVER IGNORE THIS MESSAGE. If you're selling an item, double-check that the warning states "above average": if it does, you're fine, if not, you're about to **** up and should stop what you're doing. Same principle for buy orders, but you should check that the message should say "below average", because if not, you're about to pay some serious premium for a few armor plates. P

For such small changes in the amount of isk, just scroll up, no chance of failing there. Scrolling up or down will adjust cents only, sometimes when I scroll too fast it immediately changes the amount by few Isk, so you are done in a second.

Hi,

I am the most stupid new player because I just destroyed about 1.4bn by accident.

I started EVE on November 24th and have been playing it since then ferociously. I started salvaging and doing some industry building rigs.
I also placed some buy orders and was trying to update those buy orders. Today I made the biggest mistake of my EVE-live so far. While modifying the price for Armor plates, I deleted the comma and therefore increasing my buy-order by the factor of 100.
Immediately I had to pay 789 million in market escrow and 45 million in brokers fees. I couldn’t delete my order, because it was blocked from modifying for 5 minutes.

I tried to transfer all my remaining ISK to an alt, but already two buyers bought the armor plates for 1.2 billion and 240 million.
I lost a total of 1.482.682.813 ISK.

I have 4 days left on my OMEGA account, then I will fall back to Alpha status.

I am the most stupid player on EVE.

This happens to almost every player at least once. I managed to screw up twice already. Big smile

There is a very long queue line to get into The Hell For New EVE Players Who Made Dumb Mistakes.

It's often said that you need to have money in order to make money, but it's also true that you need to have money in order to lose money. Witness every new player who manages to buy a one billion isk Gecko or sells a PLEX for 1 isk. The same things that can be said about new players buying really expensive ships apply to new players carrying very fat wallets.

Fortunately EVE is one of the BEST teachers. Most lessons are short, to the point, and extremely memorable.

Hey, I made an equally stupid error; I bought a drone I couldn't use for 40x the price I should have.

Yeah.

For small changes to the isk amount you can use the scrollwheel. Also, if you click in the dialog box it will reformat the number with commas/points.

Also, it's just a good idea in general to have a seldomly used character to hold the bulk of your cash at any time.

I developed a habit of immediately trashing the noobships when I land on stations I have much stuff at. Only painful when I do that after a long and extensive shopping trip. Did it three times so far.

Though I use modest budget tools, so the isk loss is negligable. Just the stunning moment when your own stupidity kicks in..

Friends of mine have a bad habit of undocking with PLEX within the first couple of weeks of trying the game (with the inevitable outcome) despite how many times I tell them not to from the first moment they show interest in the game :( some of them totally eclipse this in terms of stupidity and losses.

i bet you'll be checking them orders 4 times at least before you hit accept Roll

on that note, had a mate buy 100 T2 webs costing him a little over 200 mil, he forgot he wasn't on sisi lol

he was a new guy and had about 300 mil to his name, the rage was real, the salt jars over flowed,
well for at least 2 hours, then he calmed down and now,,,, he checks himself before he wreckts himself. RollBig smile

at least the webs were at a fair price and he could turn around and sell them back to get most of the isk back. might even profit depending on circumstances.

that's what i said, he decided to keep them, said he'll find use for them.

This, keep only the cash on your main needed for daily operation, and store the rest on a second "banker" char (can be on same account).

I will say you are not the stupidest person in eve because you recognized your mistake.

However it is a lousy situation to have happen to you.

Remember that you are smarter than the person that does this same thing and says.

**OMG MY ISK IS GONE BCAUZE I MAKE MISTAKE AND NOW MY FEELINGS ARE HURT CCP GIVE ME BACK MY ISKIES AND FREE MONTH BECUASE UR GAME IS HARD2PLAY**

that person is most stupid.
