Just sayin before it gets locked and trolled to death. Loved this game from the moment I first subbed 3 years ago before life happened. Icelander born and raised and love that something a couple of frozen egg head fellow nationals drummed up has lasted as long and is still continuing.

First time I played this game I realized, the learning curve was exactly the same as the 90 degree angle from the floor of your kitchen to the wall. You either got good and understood the mechanics of the game or you didn't.

Lastnight was another lesson learned. Was in a fleet that agreed that if we were in same fleet, no shooting. Okay fine, went afk to grab a beer hit the WC, for distracted a bit longer than intended. Came back to my pod floating in space. "Welp, still got my implants."

The player had warped to me, dropped fleet, asked for 1v1, and was actually nice enough not to pod me.

Not a rant. Not by any means. Yes my ship was cloaked. You can warp to a fleet members location and in the case of being cloaked, decloak your fleet mate either intentionally or unintentionally.

One thing is for sure, it was a craft beer a friend had made, yep was worth every drop out of that bottle.

Remember that in EvE, you are responsible for everything [mostly] that happens to you. Don't ever assume you're safe, ever. If even if you think you've done all you need to, to secure your position and your ship. If your ship gets popped, you 3 billion set of implants taken, well, somewhere in that you let your guard down.

3 billion in implants?!

What am I missing?

If you always stay ready you don't have to get ready.

The fact I didn't lose them? Stupid to fly with the clone that has them socketed? I mean, you know, generally being thankful for not being podded?

Any one of the above?

This is why you never want to stay still in space. Even when cloaked, keep traveling. This way if someone does warp to you, your motion will hopefully move you 2000m away before they land. It's not perfect but is better than staying still.

full highgrade set of implants (slot1-5) + the specifica Omega (slot 6) can easily hit 3bill
adding in skill hardwirings ontop and things can get worse from there.

for refferance, highgrade slaves can effectivly add a cruisers worth of HP to a buffer tank if you know how to fit for them.

on balance , worth it if you know how to keep your pod alive

Sorry for being noob but I have tried to read about implants and
as far as I could tell they enhance ships and/or training.
Maybe freeing up slots too.

Never knew they could be that expensive. They must make a
huge difference to gameplay.

If you always stay ready you don't have to get ready.

Nobody can make a beer worth more than 3 billion ISK. What?

If you always stay ready you don't have to get ready.

Some of the "Pirate Implant Sets" are indeed very useful and are indeed very expensive and indeed boost a single aspect of a ship to absurd levels.

They typically include 5 "attribute" implants that all have the same secondary effect and a sixth "Omega" implant that further boosts the secondary effects by 50%.
Moreover, they come in "Low-grade," Medium-Grade," and High-Grade" tiers.

Some common examples:

Crystal Sets: Boosts shield boosting amount by ~15% (?), ~25%, and ~50%.

Slave Sets: Boosts raw armor hitpoints on a ship by ~15% (?), ~25%, and ~50%.

Snake Sets: Boosts max velocity of a ship by ~15% (?), ~25%, and ~50%.

It was one bottle.out of a case, the case... definitely worth it. Considering the ship I lost wasn't pricey at all. Now had I lost the implants, I'd agree with you.... to an extent lol

If you are Omega, you have access to the Singularity server
Usually less than 100 people, strictly inforced PvP rules. Most goods and ships costs 100ISK (even citadels)

Go ahead! (Maybe you`ll stop complaining)

They helped to take my battleship from cruiser warp speeds to t2 frigate warp speeds. Worth it if you can afford the pod loss and not cry.

I went afk in space once, they did kill my ship, and pod me. I thought I was safe in the POS, but I was also in a fleet and got afk fleet warped into space where I was an easy target. Lost my cheap +3 implants, and haven't made the mistake since.
