How come Eve suddenly can't handle 48000 people online?

All those wrecks you created in Uedama are confusing the hamsters.

We haven't had over 35k online in a long time. The servers probably forgot what 2012 used to feel like.

Actually... that was the age of soul crushing lag and socket closings. Traffic control ain't too bad.

Thnx Dave!

Yes, this is your traffic reporter comming to you live from Jita 4-4.

As you can see, there is allready enough traffic comming in and out of the station to clog up the jumpgates.

Traffic jams are expected to last through the evening.

Back to you Dave.

This is the Metro Transit Authority Comptroller. I hear you have an issue with the traffic control issues? Can you please submit a formal report to the MTA by returning form PX94-x, in triplicate, to the MTA Comptroller Authority in Jita 4-4 and we can help you further with your issues.

Jita has been sluggish and slow to react for a while now, it's almost as if they downgraded on performance.

Got a socket closing while exploring a Wormhole about 2 hours ago ... first time I've ever had a crash in EVE. Seems like the Server get's dodgy when there's 40.000+ characters online.

The game is lagging for me since the latest patch got re-introduced (not all the time though). It's better than the first time, but I still see traffic control messages in almost dead systems, sometimes I warp backwards at gates (which means client-node are not synchronized) and as a whole the client got slower with responses (market, character sheet, etc.).

When I check Outstanding Calls in the Engine Tools they just sit in there for a while, up to one minute. I am sure the next patch will fix these issues.

Yeah I can reiterate the slow down in server performance since Ascension. I do hope it is back end code that CCP is working on currently and hasnt optimized yet. I do realize there is a big rewrite occuring in many areas that will break a lot of things in the short term and so am crossing my fingers and believing in CCP that itll get fixed..... soon™ lolBlink

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

They screwed up something with expansion, game being very CPU demanding. This patch just added things to the pile...

Have seen this as well since the update and roll back. Running about 30% CPU usage across the four cores with a single client. Running four clients is hitting the CPU almost twice as hard as it used to do.

Some men in white suits removed a half-burned teddy bear from my neighbour's pool the other day, I was wondering what had happened.

Lag? Yes it happens.

I expect a lot of old-timers can remember back to 2008-2009 when we had some real problems, something to do with the back-end if I recall correctly.

This time it's not just star-gates that seem to be affected. I have had a lot of lag when doing manufacturing and invention. Things seem to grind to a halt for what seems like ages but is probably in the region of 10 to 20 seconds. Still annoying though. Things do seem to have got worse since 119.1. It makes me wonder if CCP did manage to get all the bugs out after the roll-back.
