Trit floor at 5 isk?

Why has trit been hovering so very close to 5 isk for the last month? It trended downwards until mid-december, and then as soon as it got to 5 it leveled out. Is there something artificial affecting the price at that point, or is it just a coincidence that the price is reaching such an equilibrium right at that number?

I've been buying from sell orders in the 4.50 - 4.75 range for the past couple of weeks. Buy orders are also in that range. There is a lot of Capital ship and structure construction going on - I expect supply/demand equilibrium to be reached soon and prices will probably start moving back up once Alphas get tired of Venture mining and move on to other activities.

Venture <-- or --> Rorqual ? I've also taken pleasure in the lower range.

supply/demand equilibrium to be reached ...

New mining mechanic and people try it out. -new stuff gets used " extra "-

Holders / traders got there own agenda going on.

Pretty much how it works, universally, I think.

I tend to think that under 5 ISK is where some segments of the trading population are going to start buying up stock planing on the eventual price rise.
5 ISK may also be a "psychological floor" for miners whom may prefer to sit on stock rather than sell it for less.

I think the two will provide a barrier to prices falling further in the short term. If supply outpaces the appetite of those playing the market, then the price will fall further.

I am expecting Trit to fall further against PLEX.

No matter the ISK value, one PLEX has pretty consistently bought 160-180 million units Trit.

I am expecting this ratio to push toward 250 million. I am keeping only a minimal amount of Trit at present (150m units or so) and reordering small amounts as needed.

Definitely not putting up billion unit buy orders right now.

The reason: Alpha clones can create a lot of minerals, as can Rorquals. But alphas use almost no minerals. Not even a million Trit goes into a Vexor.
