can't get to play eve

is it just me or is GM's getting lazy? every time I have game issues I fill out a petition after one to a few days later i get reply with them telling me to do stuff i already have done to resolve the problem. then they tell me to fill out bug report. why should i have to try fix the problems myself and fill out reports. isn't that what they get paid for with the money we spend to play game?

Given your character name, maybe they assume you were just high and the actual problem was between the chair seat and the keyboard.

Because if they knew how and why the bug happened you wouldn't know it existed in the first place?

They already do, but the level of testing they would (and most software companies with a single product as complex as EVE) would be akin to...damnit I can't think of any single thing that is as complex as EVE to test.

Hell testing cars in simulated environments is even easier then testing EVE's endless combinations...

You want me to test if EVE crashes while specifically moving exotic dancers from a corp hanger to a cargo can while in some deep obscure 0.0 system while running a virus scan on the same comp?

At the same time the GMs aren't devs may not be as familiar with the situation that the game puts you in.

The funny bit is that the customers hate customer service and they hate you too. Rarely does everything go according to plan xD

lol one of the GM's made a total **** up about what they said to me on a petition and a senior GM had to step in. so if they assume I am high they better check there GM's =P

if i wasn't doing my job right i would get fired it's that simple

p.s GM's never like being wrong when it comes to me due to my name but yet 70% of the time they are

eve has more problems than any other on-line game I have played when they fix something another problem occurs and its been that way about 8 months after i started playing so no excuses.... get better devs

iv not able to play for 3-4 days now ... gm responded : run the repair tool.... iv dont that and more of that... no respond....

ccp thinks ignoring you will solve the problem. if this topics get more view and post's by people who they constantly effect then maybe we could finaly get a better response from them... but not getting my hopes up

So, what exactly is your issue that prevents you from playing EVE? Maybe the playerbase or we ISDers have a few suggestions for you aswell?

i made topic before...

Game doesnt response to ESC , TAB .CTRL or enter keys . This problem occured with 3 days ago server lags and problems
Enter doesnt work in log in screen and character selection . How ever it works when im using IG chat . That makes no sense but its like that . When i try to push enter after i typed password nothing happens, nothing happens either when i hit enter on character selection screen.

I manually clear all game hashes and settings (1.5 gb was size) didnt work
i Run repair tool , didnt work
checked my keyboard with keyboard test application . Work perfectly - need to mention that all other aplications detect all of my keys working perfectly fine.
i loan from buddy his keyboard to test just in case - guess what ? doesnt work
I unistalled client , deleted every eve related file from pc and downloaded new one, still doesnt work
I installed win7 on vmware workstation (virtual machine) , downloaded game there with all drivers fully updated , still doesnt work


Im out of options now... i am 100% my hardware and software is fine . I rly cant figure out what the problem is... Gms doesnt answer to my petition.

This made me laugh.

The thing is that actually no matter what you fill as repport or whatever if you get DC several times while in fleet, if you loose lots of stuff to enemy because you don't know why the game just crashes, it's always your fault.
I've bean loosing a lot of ships these days I don't even petition about it, first I don't want to waste more time, second will take ages to get an answer, third it's silly to loose more time just to read some copy pasta answer telling logs show nothing.

Eve is always perfect, it's you that don't have a clue about your computer and should start by plug it and turn the screen on. Of course every one knows we all play on battery and screen turned off, because we're too good, just because we play Eve.

I can think of two things:

1. You have some form of hard or soft KVM switch (to share keyboard/mouse over multiple computers).
Ran into an issue with this myself with Synergy+, some keys either stopped working or gave odd readings (all my a's got capitalised for instance).
But oddly enough only in EvE, not in any other software I tried.
Solved by moving from Synergy+ to ID (Input Director).

2. It's somehow related to your chosen keyboard layout, as in language or special features.
I've seen other software (not EvE this time) somehow bypassing the chosen layout and therefor misreading the keyboard.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Sorry to but in to your thread but as you are having problems with keyboard input and otherwise Eve seems to be working for most of us may I suggest some of the following might/could be worth trying.

I notice that English might not be your first language so are you using Windows in another language?

If so have you installed Eve in the same language as your ‘natural’ language?

Have you checked that the keyboard language is the same as your Windows installed language, both on the keyboard and via the ‘Region and Language’ option in control panel?

Have you installed Windows with more than one language, some people who use multiple languages have the facility to switch between language when typing, this is defaulted to [Ctrl] + [Shift] to change keyboard layout and [Alt] + [Shift] to change language. Has this been interpreted by Eve or Windows as a ‘change language’ command and you have not noticed?

The ‘Change key Sequence’ commands can be changed or switched off if you dig deep under the ‘Region and Language’ settings above.

Have you tried running Eve in ‘safe mode’ by starting the ‘eve.exe (safe mode)’ shortcut. It’s in your CCP\EVE folder?

Lastly you could also try running ‘LogServer.exe’ in the same folder, then starting Eve, pressing the none working keys and leaving the LogServer running close Eve and look at the log displayed to see if there are any errors or wrong key presses.

Sorry if some of this does not apply to you or has already been tried but this is the way I would try and diagnose your problem.

Otherwise good luck with your problem as I know how frustrating this sort of thing can be, BH.

dont have synergy , one pc with 3 monitors . Thats all . windows 7 OS , no switches nothing
my language is english by default and only language i have installed , even if i have multi language it should have worket in Virtual machina or when i deleted all eve settings and reinstalled game .

This happend with recent EvE glitches,it has never happend before . I did nothing that day what i didnt do all the days before that day.

Even if it was language related Enter, Tab, ESc , Ctrl is on same positions on keyboard for all languages . And again all my other aplications work perfectly.

All letters in EvE work also w/o problem because i can chat w/o problem....

from log serv yellow warning only i could spot i will copy some examples and got no idea is it related . They seems to appear with me doin nothing .


I haven't got a clue where browserLockdownSvc should run, although I could guess any of these: ['LSC', 'bookmark', 'bulkMgr', 'charUnboundMgr', 'sovMgr', 'clientStatsMgr', 'station', 'corporationSvc', 'charMgr', 'facWarMgr', 'voiceMgr']

I haven't got a clue where agentMgr should run, although I could guess any of these: ['browserLockdownSvc', 'LSC', 'bookmark', 'bulkMgr', 'charUnboundMgr', 'sovMgr', 'clientStatsMgr', 'station', 'corporationSvc', 'charMgr', 'facWarMgr', 'voiceMgr']

there are tons of this warning messages. All other are blue and as it seems nothing happens when i push non working keys .


When i tryed using EvE in safemode i keep downloading same patch all over and over again. 1.04#1 patch... i download and finish update eve restarts and when it loadsa again it prompt me to download it again... and again.. did it like 10 times before i gived up.

My only language installed on my pc is english . I cant stand my own language key set up =p

This guy thinks he is smart by inventing a completely obscure and theoretical problem that never existed. The rest of us get disconnects, backwards tech 3's and game freezes when crossing a stargate. But evidently this guy sees issues with exotic dancers, corp hangers and virus scans.

Actually I had that exact same problem he thought of. But I was stoned too and didn't care...

Hmm, strange, indeed.

Given it's strangeness, and the fact that it doesn't seem that very many has had this problem I think it's related to some quite deep and obscure voodoo in EvE's keybinding code.

My issues with synergy+ did actually happen when they made the latest tweaks to key shortcuts.

My only advice without more data would be to play nice with the GM's, provide them with all data they ask for and understand that the only thing they can do is to forward your data to the very limited amount of developers who actually know how that bit of the code works Smile
