Does my Omega become an Alpha is my sub lapses?

I've run into some health problems recently that might require me to allow my EvE subscription to lapse for a while, I'm wondering if my character will revert to a free Alpha and if so, what happens to all the extra skillpoints I have on her, since Alpha's can only have a certain amount? Do I lose them? When I come back are they reinstated or what? Or do Omega clones on lapsed subs simply hang in limbo unchanged like they used to?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything.

You become an Alpha and can only use Alpha skills. Once you re-subscribe all your other skills are still there

I just looked this up yesterday. If at the time of Alpha-izing you're in a ship you no longer have skills to fly, you get to fly it until your next dock up. After that, you can only undock in a ship an Alpha of your faction with your Alpha-level skills can fly. Therefore... better move all your shineys to exactly where you want them before you Alpha.

Corollary to the 2nd rule of EVE: Won't undock what you used to afford to fly.
A new rule of EVE: See you back sooner rather than later, Omega!
