First of all.. happy new year!...

i have a lot of questions.., but i am thinking to give a try to hacking, exploring., and trying to avoid be wiped out by pirates.

so.. i am between 2 Frigates to start exploration.

1st logical adquire was the "magnate" but have a big disadventage., donĀ“t have that four mid slot to fit all those required scanners. so.. checking the 6 initial frigates. i see the Crucifier have 4 mid slots. and also have some electronic warfare bonus ( that can help me a lot about avoiding problems like get killed in low sec systems.

What do you think community? its a good idea or a bad idea? fitting a crucifier to scout?

Thank you!

Stick to the Magnate. It has bonuses for exploration tasks. The Crucifier is an ewar support ship and fills a totally different purpose. However its ewar will not help you much out in low/null as tracking disruption just isn't the right tool for that job.

Sure you can fit the Crucifier to do exploration. You can fit just about any ship to do exploration really. But an actual exploration ship will always be better at the task.

There are 4 T1 frigates that are specifically bonused for exploration: Imicus, Probe, Magnate and Heron. They are very similar and all well suited to the job.

Using a combat frigate will significantly reduce your effectiveness when scanning or hacking. When exploring in dangerous space you will usually choose a frigate that can fit a covert ops cloak line the Astero or one of the Covert Ops frigates. These are more expensive and more skill intensive. http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Exploration_101

I think your alliance buddies are camping lowsec all day with insta-kill ships on the gates and think they are pvpers, they are mistaken.

A pvper is not always a pirate. A pirate is someone very different from an EVE pvper. I are a carebear and pvper.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

Bring a mobile depot and get all the things you think you need. The 1minute deployment time hurts tho, so you gotta time your refit in space very carefully.

You have hit the common problem of lack of midslots on Amarr ships, which comes from their armor tanking preference.
You dont "need" 3 different scanners but ofc its nice to have some scanning upgrade(which i think you mean with the 3rd one).
As said you can carry around Mobile Depot to swap around your analyzer module.
If you need scanning upgrade you can forget using nonbonused ship since you lose all the bonuses and gain very little from the extra midslot.
