Should I have shot this guy?

Mining in a .06 system and some maniac in a frigate target locks my Skiff then shoots me with one of those pyrotechnic fireworks launcher. Hell, I'd never seen anything like it before, felt like the end of the world what with all the explosions, noise and stuff bit but I executed one of my emergency GTFO warps and to my surprise I wasn't even dinged. I ducked into station, grabbed me something with guns on it and returned to the scene of the crime (?). He was gone, hopefully laughing himself to death.

Thing is, I wonder if I could have sicced my Hammerheads on him without Concord getting all bent out of shape and ending my day in a painful fashion? After all, the only damage was a few minutes wasted as I was back burning rocks less than ten minutes after the not really an attack.

Kind of cool though, those things do make some noise.

CONCORD will pretty much chew through your skiff if you shot him. He wasn't doing any criminal acts and all that.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

You should have grabbed hold of some firework launchers and given him some shite back...

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

If your safety is set to green you have nothing to worry about, as it won't let you take a criminal action that will result in CONCORD.

It is possible that guy is going around pretending to shoot miners, hoping one of them will shoot back and get CONCORDed, so he can take all the shinies from their wrecks.

The old snowball launchers that made you redbox on people were far more fun for watching people concord themselves...

Though that was before the pansy button and back when we had to pay attention to the game.

Ya know I didn't think about the green thing; next time I'll just loose the Hammerheads upon him. Thing is he had me target locked, seems like you got to push a button somewhere to fire the things and that should indicate aggro. Think I've seen those things on the free lunch trough, might should get a couple and turn corp mates loose upon the void.

The first time they gave out snowballs people did shoot back and got Concorded. They complained and that is why there was such a huge gap of years between the first time we got snowballs and the second time.

Fireworks and snowballs are classed as missiles; you need a fireworks/snowball launcher, need to target, and press F1 to shoot them.

They however do not do any damage and have special bits of code from CCP to not cause agro / Concord / the usual flags.

If you want to see a show, go to Jita and watch the undock. CCP ISD members have come by in the last few hours and have caused a huge party, as everyone wants to shoot them (with fireworks and snowballs).

Just make sure you record yourself doing it and send us a link so we can all get a laugh when a concord battleship slices you in half.

But in all seriousness, fireworks and snowballs are just fun little seasonal weapons that are loud and flashy, but utterly harmless. Last year I was laughing in local when a large lowsec gatecamp turned out to all be using firework launchers.

I have learned that in Eve you can shoot anyone anytime you feel like it. Results vary however.

I didn't read the OP, but the answer is yes. Always shoot that guy.

Probably be a good idea to actually read the OP before posting a reply.

In this case the OP while mining was targeted and shot at by another player with Festival items which don't do any damage. No action from Concord so the OP switched into a combat ship and went back to engage the other player who was nowhere to be seen.

The OP asked would he be Concorded if he attacked the player who had shot the Festival items at him. The correct answer is yes, Concord would destroy his ship if he attacked the player who shot the Festival items at him.
