REALLY STRANGE probing problem

First off, yes I cleared my cache, a few times.

The character has Astrometrics 5, Astrometrics Rangefinding 5 and all the others at 4.

He has the 10% probe strength implant.

He is flying a helios with 2 x T1 Grav Capacitor rigs

He is using a Sisters Launcher and Sisters probes and I CAN'T NARROW DOWN A SINGLE SIG!

Haven't tried any explo since the last patch. I have scanned hundreds of sites in High, Low, 0,0 and WH space in the past couple of years, I know how to do it.

Any ideas?

There was a change to the filters with the last patch that resulted in this sort of behaviour. Check the filters on your scanner.

Will do ASAP. Thanks for the help, it sounds very plausible.

This. It's quite embarrassing.

The filter defaults to "Anomalies" which includes *just* "Anomalies." So when you get enough of a scan hit to resolve the anomaly into a grav, ladar, etc., site, the site gets filtered out since its no longer an unknown anomaly.

I was cussing a blue streak for ten minutes.

Unannounced and not very useful honestly.

Nah, it wasn't 'unannounced'.

I pulled this from the Crucible features list that was released many weeks ago:

"Scan Signature Filter

Cosmic signatures may now be filtered according to type, allowing explorers to easily sort Ladar, Gravimetric, Magnetometric, Radar and Unknown cosmic signatures in their system scanner results."

Where does that say "oh, by the way, change these settings as by default your probes won't function the way you're used to if you don't"?

This answer really needs a sticky considering how often it comes up.

You want to scan? Scan the frigging forums for 10 seconds and find the same question answered. Good practice.
