How do I find the ideal Corp for me?

I have only been playing a short time and really enjoy Eve. I am currently happy to Solo in high-sec doing Military Missions and making ISK with simple Mining. Really enjoying the mix of PVE action and mining but I'm sure that'll wear thin soon, so in a way I'm learning to walk at my own pace and not doing much except getting alot of training finished and saving for much better ships.

So how do I find an established Corp that will be cool with my time zone UTC+12:00? (New Zealand) I'm only casual, I work, wish to learn the game at my pace (slow) and enjoy the experience. I like to Mine and Fight, but understand this is such a large game that it's only a very general starting point.

What questions should I ask of any given Corp to weed out the **** and find the quality in the crowds of recruiting Corp's?

What kind of Corp am I looking for, given my general interests?

Thanks for your time.

I would go for a corp that is able to teach you to PVP and that provides enough content to meet your PVE desires.

In the beginning it can be frustrating to loose lots of ships, but the more you learn about hunting others, the better you'll get in defending yourself!

So, I would say:
1) Join a null corp where they also provide some on grid mining boosts
2) Do some combat sites
3) Join some small scale PVP fleets

There are many corps that can help with this!
