The booster can be used by veterans daily (or every other day, if you have high Biology skill) to up your attributes +10 until Jan 20. Total extra SP is about 650k, basically an injector. Because of the training speed reduction that alphas get, it's kinda useless to them, but they can get 30-50 million ISK if they sell it, which is a decent sum.

In any case, yeah it's somewhat unbelievable that CCP still doesn't realize what the playerbase will do with a tradeable skill-anything, or what the effect of "give a single random skin" (vs. "give everybody all the skins") is in terms of alpha accounts created.

But I do see attempts to give good gifts, too, with the 300 AUR and reduction of a lot of the NEX prices to 100-300 AUR. Honestly, the NEX skins should have been priced this way from the beginning; maybe they're finally understanding how to price their brown and gritty stuff.

that's basically the wells fargo scandal. Employees had new account quotas (or was it bonuses) and to satisfy them they started creating new accounts themselves.

If new accounts were the intent with the accelerators that's kind of impressive. It's crowdsourcing the inflated activity reports. And unlike gift boxes in redeeming system, transferring items requires a login. The number of these accounts can't be that high, though so I just don't know. I'm on the fence.

I have more than 30 accounts and it's so painful cycling through them all, can't imagine 100 or even 1000...No matter the profit, nothing can justify so much labor. Not for me. I am staying out of this business. More for the others I guess.

Not sure how I feel about this, especially after making sure my account was Omega around the holidays to receive any kind of good reward to be given. Just to find out instead I should of been making a pile of free accounts instead, where I could receive more gifts of equal value.
That's the part that stings a bit, not that Alphas get gifts its that they get the same gifts.

I pity CCP having to walk on the fine line between pleasing idiots who want things NOW NOW NOW, MOAR FREE STUFF and those other idiots who are always looking for some clever way to scab a crumb out of the pavement cracks so they can congratulate themselves on their cleverness.
Customers can be extremely objectionable critters but there's no need to be zombie prostitutes about it all.

I've made around 4 billion isk off the presents so far, (non-intentionally, I just wanted all the youl festival skins) the accelerator and the "random" youl festival skins run for between 20-70m atm each, depending on which ones you get. They really should have limited it to omega accounts to prevent this.

But then maybe this was CCP's plan, to artificially increase account numbers astronomically.

PS: I know some alpha account newbies who made 10+ billion isk off these. Talk about some starter cash. I predict some alpha newbie out there is shopping for a supercarrier right now. :P

I'm pretty sure for the amount of effort that would take, you could make just as much if not more isk doing level 4's.

I have 175 accounts currently all laid out on a Spreadsheet I was training them to use for various things as well as to train up and sell over time..

It took me alot of time to go threw all of them and collect all the things.. But as CCP can see if they wanted to look.. Most of my alphas have 2 mil sp or more as I am training them up for things.. I also have 175 Codes readys to plug in sense they went on sale for 5.99.. Unfortunatly I missed the first few days of the event but I got a hefty few dollars from it.. SO worth it..

CCP is trying to encourage new players by getting them hooked at first so they can get more money later. Right now if you're a newbro in this game you could easily spend a few hundred dollars for PLEX/AUR to buy SP, clothes, skins, ships, and modules to fit them.

IMO they're pushing towards a pay to play model where every action you do costs ISK. Things like docking, using a jump clone, getting full DPS or tank on your ships will cost you ISK. I'm sure they are dozens more but it's early and I can't think of them at the moment LOL. Instead of spending a billion ISK for a subscription they can nickel and dime you out of ten times that amount.

It's not going to happen overnight but will be a slow transition that will take years. I'm not sure if it will work on a PC game but it's possible. I know it works on phone games where people spend thousands to play.
