Paid ship and skill unlocks?

The problem is, there are many things in Eve where you would skill and alt to a specific level, then stop training that character. Because they're perfect for what you want to use them for.

A big example is cyno alts.

So, if you could do what you suggest, CCP would take a massive hit on revenue. Which is sub-optimal for them. To put it mildly.

Woo! CSM XI!

I would pay about $1200 to "permanently" unlock my Omega clone.

Actually, come to think of it this is probably a good idea. Time to hit the PLEX market.

I'd pay $12/mo for an annual subscription.

What's the point of this thread?

It's actually very good idea that could bring more RL money to CCP.

Unlock ALL T2 frigates for weekend - $5 USD, unlock all T2 cruisers for weekend, $10, unlock all capital ships for the weekend, $20!

Just make sure that there is stupid price attached for temporary unlocks, and those people who do not like subscriptions will pay for these weekend unlocks and end up paying more than they would have if they just paid for annual subscription.

But that's precisely how many customers behave these days. Give them temporary but immediate candy and charge them more for it than a permanent supply of candies at steadily progressing ways. Many people will pay up for temporary but immediate gratification.

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

It's like the OP isn't aware that there is something called 'subscription' that can be done with either RL money or PLEX. It's even cheaper than Friday nights in the bar.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

You're under the assumption that EVE players have a healthy social lifestyle. What is wrong with you!?! You know we don't know what it's like to go outside and socialize so how would OP know what to do on Friday nights other than play EVE.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

I would buy that for a dollar.

CCP could then kiss their revenue goodbye. That is why it will not be this way. EVER.

So we can have all the skill we already trained permanently unlocked and play with the actual state of our chars?

Sounds sooo sooo good...
Well, since skill trading came out, if you sacrifice your skill training you can more or less afford a PLEX a month just by extracting and selling your skills.

So a alpha can simply invest the necessary subscription time to learn what he wants to learn then do what you suggested.

this would also depend on what new content and skill are added. new ships to buy into, new skills to unlock.

Nothing is added, this isn't some nonsense carrot on a stick MMO that lures you into paying/grinding some more every 6 months with new "content" and things to level up.

If you do not like how EVE does things, feel free to go to any of the other eleventy billion games that do things the way you like them. I hear Star citizen is going to be awesome.

In my eyes Alphas already get too much...why flying cruiser?

If one wants all there's a subscrription.....if not all above has to be cut off.....

Please no beta gamma delta clones and make the game pay 2 win....

One who is willing to pay 1200 for a total unlock can also afford a subscription.....the rest is just nonsense.......

And yes...plex and skill injectors are already way over the edge in my eyes.....why go further.....

The real solution is a rollback behind plex and play the game as it was.....

Even the Plex killed the factor that makes this game "special"...so ccp go back to the time before plex.....and let all train in realtime without shortcuts....

I like a lot of you head that EVE was going free to play came back to be disappointed that you could not fly your favorite ship or use you skill you need.

I've thought about re-subbing but I just can see paying to just be placed right back in the same spot once I un-subbed.

would you the casual player pay to have ship's and skill's permanently unlocked to you.

Yes, pay a one off fee to have a free cyno alt or cloaky camper for the rest of your life. What can possibly go wrong? I'm sure no-one would abuse this.

Serious answer: EVE's gameplay and economy is so complex and intertwined that making everything free permanently, in any way, would seriously damage the game. Like, real damage. The kind of 'numbers dropping like a brick and CCP going out of business because the game just broke so damn hard' damage. They can't just make certain stuff free without nerfing the ever living sh*t out of it so it doesn't unbalance the game to ungodly amounts.

Was literally going to say almost exactly this. I see I'm not needed here.
