Increased demand on my cpu - anyone else having the same issues

I have been playing my 5 accounts on my 1 pc on max settings for years, however since the patch I have noticed a big increase on the demand for my CPU to a point where I have had to downgrade my setting slightly. (which I hate doing)

Before patch with 5 accounts and using web browser and excel (always need excel lol) I was around 50-60% cpu

Now im always above 80% +

Has anyone else had this happen to their pc.

stop using a potato to play eve and upgrade to a toaster at the very minimum and you'll be fine

Can't really confirm, but I run 2 accounts at most, which isn't very taxing either way. Try turning off the sound, especially the doppler effect if you have that turned on, as that can be quite the CPU hog.

do you use Max Settings ?

I have a I5 processor which could be the issue, 16gb ram, GTX 970 4gb ram

Stop getting face tattoos, you're gonna get cancer.

The only thing somewhat taxing I've noticed is rendering **** loads of citadels. This is mostly confined to the test server at the moment but I can see it becoming a problem in Perimeter.

I use only Minimum specs which is fine for me.

I have an I7 8gbs ram 750 ti 2gb

My problem is that EVE puts stress on the CPU mainly and im running a stock heat sink.

2016 itself is sapient and evil, and it whispers for me to throw myself from a bridge.

BAD 2016! Get in the corner and think upon your actions!

I run 12 clients on minimum specs with a core 2 quad... the problem is how you've configured your system, not your system itself...

He asked a question?

The red haired guy is a troll. He had a thread locked last night or night before talking about walking in stations iirc.

Recently discovered that EvE was no longer activating the second Nvidia GPU, so running on the Intel cpu-built-in GPU.

Using the Nvidia setup tool, I manually forced both the EvE launcher and EvE client executables to use the Nvidia GPU (had to do both to get it to use the Nvidia GPU).

The change was immediately noticeable, as the rendering was visually improved, and the responsiveness was significantly better (when using the Intel GPU, drop-down menus were noticeably slow to navigate at max settings).

fitted a Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler and dropped from 87c at its hottest to 45-50c now

I hope this helps

Overclock the thing! :P Just replaced my i5-3470 with an i5-3570K and got it up to 4.4GHz, liquid cooling keeps everything at 69'C when running Prime95.

But yeah, I would check that doppler setting and try without audio.

Im forced to use Intel HD graphics because my graphics card broke a while ago.

  • Before ascension i could play EVE on med settings with 1600x900 resolution without any problems.
  • After Ascension its very laggy with the same settings. Also, the client sometimes just goes black, which means you cant see anything, but the game is still running (audio plays) ... its really fun when you fly an expensive ship.

I can still run 5 clients on min settings though. With 5 clients, min settings, CPU usage is under 20% and temperature under 45°C.

As soon as i increase graphics settings in EVE, the CPU load explodes. I cant even properly run 1 client on med settings. Maybe becaase the CPU needs to emulate those shader thingies of graphics cards? I dont know.
