So I was just quickly looking up some prices on eve central, and noticed there is a serious price difference between these two frames.

Rattlesnake: ~389M
Nestor: 589M - 595M

Other than Sisters Ships being Trendy and hip (if they even are) why the price difference.

Is the Nestor that much more veratile in usage.

I have considered one for Null Ratting//Exploration but don't know if that's a good idea.

Looking for feedback.

I am a miner, mission runner, and explorer...

or as EVE Online would have it...

The lower price of the rattlesnake is driven by the supply, not the demand. There has been a vast oversupply of Rattlesnake BPCs for some time now.

You can use sites like this to determine these things.

You can use the "Jita qty/day" as a quick metric on volume traded.

I am sorry Paranoid but whenever someone shows me something like this I see nothing that translates to anything I can compute.

And don't waste your time, explaining or trying to explain that to me.

This is nothing against you, no worries. Even when I watch the o7 show and CCP Quant is telling something about trading stuff, the only thing I hear is white noise.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

Allot probably has to do with supply and demand, but the Nestor is also a very effective logi BS which the Rattler is not.

Function and viability plays a role in it too, like Kara Hawke pointed out. Being pirate battleships and having hull bonuses for drones are about the only things they share in common.

Even within the context of their drones, they have wildly different design philosophies; the Nester being more conventional with a pre-tieracide Domi configuration while the Rattler goes for a quality-over-quantity approach.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Nestor has been on my wish list for close to 3 years. No particular reason other than I like the looks of the ship and I have a soft spot for multi-tools (yes I own a Leatherman).

I still don't own one, I have the skills and the cash but I've never been able to come up with a fit I liked!

Rattlesnake, on the other hand was easy to fit. I chose it as my first level 4 mission runner and even with modest skills I had no problems. CPU is a bit tight if you fit a sentry drone augmentation rig but, otherwise there is a lot of fitting headroom and the ship can fit a massive passive tank. The biggest problem I had was deciding whether I wanted missiles as my main weapon (lots of ballistic controls) or drones (lots of DDA'a)

You don't really have to look at the bulk of the data, the first couple of lines say 123 Snakes move in Jita Per day VS 14 Nestors. One can assume that Snakes are more popular.

The big reason for the change is that BPCs are a lot easier to farm (they drop from DED sites, unrated sites and as far as i'm aware Faction rats too) . Sisters ships do drop from drones i think but i don't think at suck a great rate. Also Gurista sites are very easy while drones are some what harder in my experience.
