Deployable Recon Structure

TL/DR: Make a deployable structure that gives you statistics data (like you have on the map) specific to a certain corp/alliance.

Reasons:
1. Watchilists+locator agents was too strong
2. Just locator agents is too weak
3. Finding enemy assets in space is nearly uncounterable, but grindy and annoying

Mechanic:

I propose a new deployable structure to give limited intel. You drop this thing in space, load some fuel in it, select a target corp/alliance and wait. Every 30-60 minutes, it gives you regional, constellation, and system reports specified to your target akin to map statistics, with some graphical ways of displaying the data over space and time. This way, if you have no idea where your enemy is located, you can drop these structures over multiple regions to find them. Once you find the region, you can drop your structures in the region's constellations to find the specific constellation where your enemy is at, and then down to the system level.

Counters:
At all points in this process your structures can be combat-probed down and killed, and it generates a killmail. They're not hyper-expensive or cheap, maybe in the 10-20 mil range. In highsec, shooting one gives you a suspect timer, and a very small drop in sec status (unless you're at war with the person who deployed it, and then there's no timer or sec status loss), in order to balance their play in CONCORD-protected space.

Yeah I'd be alright with it.

Actually, I was thinking of how covert ops 'satellite' should replace AFK cloakers. They'll be scannable, just harder to pin down because they devote so much of their mass to sensors and stealth devices (not cloak) and do the job of being a passive spy platform.

This seems suspiciously reasonable.

Out of curiosity, just how much more intel do you need and why?

It is nobody's business when I do x in y or when, deal with it.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

Number of players in system?
Number of jumps through a system in a given period?
Npc's killed?

Interesting...

It's been said in the OP.
I'll also point out that you've bemoaned hub humping war spammers.
This is a tool to facilitate moving away from that.

Sounds like these things can be added to Observatory Arrays. We should see them and gates next year, unless CCP changed their plans.

I would say for HS intel only let it work on corps you are at war with (will help balance and give aggressors an asset in space)

even with it only generating a suspect timer letting ppl know that this one is looking for them will need to be a thing since they scan entire regions and killing every single one in a region is impractical

If they generate kill mails I would definitely go looking for these .

Personally I'd like to see observatory arrays about 1/4th the cost of an industrial array, with corresponding HP.
Only one reinforcement timer and a configurable vulnerability window

oh definitely the main issue is ppl found the WL op because it felt uncountable if you don't know what array in the region is looking for you it would be the same problem.

as for cost i would like to see a relitivly cheap one that can do system a bit more expensive that can do const and a few hundred for one that can do region
