The good news about the latest blaster changes is...

Oh wait, there is no good news. The ONE thing that shouldn't be done, under any circumstance, is for blasters to be made "more like autocannons and lasers", which is exactly what CCP is doing by giving Null more range.

I think that most experienced blaster pilots would agree that blaster experts would prefer more peak damage, not more range. If we wanted more range, we would fly Amarr or Minmatar or Caldari. How can the devs assigned to game balance listen to the vast amounts of player input and feedback and then just ignore it and do something completely different than what players are asking for? Why don't they consult players with literally thousands of kills using blasters? I know I would.

The Crucible 1.0 blaster changes, while better than nothing, were a half measure. Want to see some real improvement to blasters? Increase the base damage on Void by 50% and change its cap use back to pre-crucible levels and completely remove Null's tracking penalty.

It's for a bit of damage that can be applied if you cant get in range. Oh BTW with barrage you can easily get 20km range on 425's but the only ship that can get a 20km range with null (and no TE/TC) is the eagle because of a 100% bonus to optimal.

Indeed, blasters still have awful, awful range. Perhaps Gallente blasterboats should simply have their range bonuses replaced with damage bonuses or something so the Diemost doesn't become a vaga?

Sorry, gonna have to agree with the OP here. If you can't get in range in the 10 seconds that it takes to reload null then the fight is already over.

Blaster boats are in your face, blow gapping holes platforms. Now, it would be nice if CCP actually buffed them to be that. Otherwise, I really don't care about applying 60% of my max dps 5km farther. I want to be able to grab a target, orbit him AND actually hit him. Outside of my 5km optimal, I don't care. Inside my optimal, yes, I want to be able to hit what I'm shooting at. Better tracking please.

If you really had some then you'd post on the dedicated thread, yes I know CCP doesn't care a rat's balls of that thread but still.

Now you may prefer even more dps and less range, well I prefer more range and more speed. Now what?

Sry but everything in the game is not about blobs and lagfest right?
Well flash news, everything is neither about gate/station camping or wormholes.

1st both targets moving, 10sec and even less it's all Tornado needs to put 100km between you and your ultra uber Proteus/Deimos or whatever hybrid crap unless you've landed by some mystic chance/miracle on the top of your target head.

That's exactly what needs to be changed, blaster platforms are tools for some short/close minded egos that use them mostly in Minmatar fleets (yes to pin crap and do the job for you because double webs at 60km are a lot better than a single 12km with 60% strength).
One thing is sure, other than gates/undocks and high sec grieffing/ganking hybrids are the poor knowledge man choice.
Everyone will tell you PVE go Caldari, PVP go Minmatar.

Now for the last part of your post you really don't use that much blasters because if you did you should have figured by now that Void just became very interesting thx to base tracking increase on the gun it self, still not enough dps vs faction but it's a personal opinion. Null gets range buff but still crap dps, now you can't just sit at 25km and shoot the dam thing because he might hit you, and the problem is?

All this tralala about the worst T2 short range of all T2 ammo available IG and of all gun types is really silly. Aren't you tired of Drakes or Hurricanes?
We're not asking to replace those for Brutixes now, just asking to have options in our racial line up but seems people have a weird sense of what is "balanced" once they get their tralala touched.

Hybrid turrets only take 5 seconds to load ammo now after the buff.

So far, the hybrid changes made by CCP have been incremental.
I kind of like the baby-step approach as it will help stop a needed nerf if they over-did it.

That said, Gallente blaster boats and hybrid ammo still:
- could use a little more speed
- reduce or remove ammo tracking penalty

Make those in small changes and let's see ...

I would like to see hybrid and projectile stats swapped on the test server just to see the effects. The faster shield tanked Minnie boats would be able to zoom up fast and deal out the extra DPS, and the slow ass Gallie boats would get a huge range buff. Seems like everyone wins to me.

I agree with the OP.

There are enough guns with range in eve, blasters should remain the one gun type with superior damage and inferior range.
Dont make them all the same.

For range pick rails, that's what they're for.

I agree with OP here. There is no need for more range.

The problem with blasters is that they can only do thermal and kinetic damage IMO. There should be a damage increase so that when you eventually get into optimal rang, the damage is enough to devastate your enemy.
