[Request] - Remove underpriced SKINs from New Eden Store

A number of the first group of ship skins released remain vastly below even the current sale price, presumably due to the free Aurum we were given with the opening of the Store. For example, the Punisher Kador SKIN is 250 Aur after a nearly 90% discount, for a plex->aurum price of about 80m. Jita has 64 below 10m.

Please hide or grey out oversupplied skins in the New Eden Store until the existing supplies have been applied to characters.

CCP almost never intervenes in player markets. It is up to an attentive player to find the best deal.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

The New Eden Store is not a player market. Aurum prices and listed items are directly controlled by CCP, and reflect their management and vision for the game.

Discouraging the purchase of items that could more profitably be bought in-game would add value for customers, build goodwill, and encourage the use of a wider variety of Store items.

Omnathious Deninard pretty much nailed it as for CCP getting involved with the player market. If you've been around for long enough, you'll note that market prices jumping and falling is a routine occurrence in Eve's history, even to the point of extreme cases such as the one you are describing. As such, it goes without saying that such risks should be expected. CCP doesn't often, if ever, make their decisions based exclusively on how the market will be impacted. Look at PLEX if you think I'm wrong. Sorry you're learning that the hard way, but then again, that's how we all learn much of Eve...the hard way.

They are likely going to be gutting many of the current SKINs in favor of future ones anyways. That's why they are on sale. Either way, they may not stay that way for long.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I bought all the blue ones...

You're assuming that everyone who is selling one is trying to break even or beat the current Aurum to ISK conversion price. Some people just don't care.

CCP isn't going to base their marketing strategy on the player market. vOv Not a lot you can do about it, honestly, not much point in it, since the player market fluctuates so wildly.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno

Picked up a number of Intaki ones ... I like the deep blue, and that's my homeworld, after all.

If CCP want to establish a dealer channel selling SKINs in game for ISK they will need to offer some level of price protection and end of life notification. It's hard to run a business if your supplier undercuts you by 80%.

If they want people to buy from the store using Aurum, the players trying to sell them on the in game market are simply speculators and can be hung out to dry with impunity.

Und bis wann gibt es diesen Discount? Wann endet die Aktion?

(NOTE: GOOGLE TRANSLATED from this thread)
The discounts will remain in the New Eden Store. Changes in the price structure, possibly also removal of several SKINs from the store, we can not exclude in the future.

Since we are not only improving the EVE universe with the ship's lacquers, but also wanting to make some money, we now have to observe how these drastic discounts affect the income. Only then can the next (price) strategy be decided.

Wait and see, I suppose.
