Good luck.
I've asked for 3 accounts to be updated so far, all of them exactly the same other than minor differences in the account name and email address.

One of them has been waiting 6.5 days so far and had a few back and forth requests.
One I requested 6.1 hours ago and hasn't gone further than initial "Request received" notification.
One I requested 6 hours ago and completed in around 30 minutes. (Thanks GM, but I won't mention names)

Welcome to the CCP support lottery.

No, welcome to a new, very large expansion with tens of thousands of new players logging in.

Ya know, to avoid this, I actually updated my email before the expansion hit.

Good for you. But they didn't say they were banning email addresses. Or filtering them based on (a still hidden) substring list.
My EVE specific email addresses had been valid and used for years, nobody had reason to believe that would change until they released a dev blog a couple of days after the expansion release.

They actually did warn us to check our details were legit multiple times in the run up to the expansion. I didn't bother and had to wait a few days to get it changed. Did you send all the evidence they requested in the auto reply?

There was a devblog about a month before expansion announcing that everyone will get email authentication and to update prior to expansion too avoid problems.

My details were "legit".
My mail addresses had worked previously, CCP had mailed me before, I hadn't changed them, support could email my existing addresses just fine.

Some ignorant person decided that naive string filters are just fine for email addresses. I guess that person has never been to Scunthorpe, Penistone, Lightwater or Clitheroe, mainly because they've been censored from their maps.

A individual response to your ticket may take time as there is currently a large number of tickets being processed. Opening multiple tickets on the same issues will further delay response times across the board. Please be patient. CCP is aware of the hardship this is causing as everyone wants to enjoy killing internet spaceships and they are doing their best to address everyones tickets in a timely manner.
