Ccp . How many new accounts from IP addresses that have not been active in the last 6 month just joined the game?

I would be interested to know the data on how many real new members joined eve recently?

well idk about new players as in actually new to eve

but I know (have an idea) of how many players ..

- considering the new pilots created and the number of people online, and the fact that you can only have 1 alpha account online at any moment:

is say the number of "new players" due to alpha clones is over 200k is my guess.

No need to guess. New character creation has spiked quite high. Based on the data there, I'd estimate ~6-7 thousand new character creations since Ascension went live.

That seems a bit low, really. The rookie help Channel had about 7300 characters in it at one point yesterday, and due to the nature of that channel, those would for the most part be new characters. Now, I don't think it's likely that all newly created characters have been online at the same time at that point, so it has to be more than 7.3k.

Looking at those graphs, it appears to me that they show newborn characters per hour. So, it's between 500 and 1800 new characters per hour. Look at the "past three months", as that graph shows newborn characters per day - there's a spike on November 16th saying 26543 new characters on that day alone.

15. - 17518
16. - 26543
17. - 20134
18. - 17219
19. - 25959

107373 new characters in just 5 days.

However, there are certainly many long time eve players among those. I myself created multiple new characters to check out the new tutorial and hear the voice of different commanders. So, that really doesn't tell us much.

In 0-sec ( border system lolsec ) we had several souls who got lost in various ships.
The type of ships you would not expect, used by a "alt of a eve player"

( as far i know, most where left to there peace by my dear alliance members )

I like the newbro's :)

The starter systems are brimming with life the last few days, so I took it upon myself to supply those adorable newbies with everything they need to get their EVE lives started.

Totally unrelated question: is there a certain point at wich CCP considers price gouging in rookie systems as newbie griefing?

I'm on the fence there. ripping off newbros is kind of mean, but the market in Eve is free and should remain so.

Newbies really don't buy stuff that's worth a lot, and they will quickly catch on to the concept of trade in Eve and start equipping themselves in one of the minor or major trade hubs. As long as they are willing to learn and ask questions, it shouldn't be much of a problem anyway if they waste a few million ISK on overpriced modules at the beginning, since many players are more than willing to lend a hand.

Holy crap....I was talking about some mere 50-100% above Jita, not going full Shkreli on newbros...

well, add 100% above jita on some named T1 modules, and it will easily add up to a million or two for a single t1 frig fitting.

I've always ignored your alliance. I figure eventually, Paris Hilton will come along and stuff you back in her purse.

I hope you CODE boys are "nice" to any of our new friends - at least the first time they come across you at least.

My first few experiences with you guys actually taught me a lot about tanking etc. Please pass on your knowledge thoughtfully & not forcefully.

I am always nice to people and I used the latest in player retention technology (light neutron blaster II). They are in good hands.

Hush now...we don't like to talk about this around here..it's..kind of a sensitive topic....
After all, resubbing would mean a lot of us were stupid enough to fall for the most obvious marketing ploy.
A little more discretion would be appreciated. As far as I am concerned, we're still all Alphas around here, at least until someone can prove the opposite...
