Looking to get into Nullsec exploration

Hey guys,

Brand spanking Omega toon here, looking to get into Nullsec exploration to make some ISK, possibly via joining a well established NS based exploration corp for added security. Obviously my skills and balance are relatively low just now.

Was hoping to be pointed in the right direction, perhaps to a decent corp and get some basics on living in NS. As I understand it's completely different from other areas of space.

Cheers!

If you are into exploration Signal Cartel should be a fine choice if you wish to join a player corp that's primarily focused on exploration. They do have some quite heavy restrictions on PvP so if you are into that aswell you probably should look elsewhere.

Personally I would also recommend looking into Wormhole exploration as a new player. Even though no Local can be unnerving it can also work to your advantage since other players will have to actively scan for your ship to know you are in the area.

Finally remember that it's better to stick to cheap T1 exploration frigates and T1-modules (including the Prototype Cloaking Device) while learning since just one Relic site in Null/Wormhole space should provide enough loot to pay for replacement ships when you get blown up. T2 ships and modules cost ALOT of ISK for a new player and will eat into your wallet whenever you loose one.

If you are looking to join nullsec and teaching/new player focused Corporations, then the major Alliances all offer some really good options.

They all offer great IT support for out of game services, teaching, free or near free ships, modules, skillbooks and regular logistics support to move loot to markets. They can all help new explorers, including with skill plans and fitted ships; and they are all extremely active:

Karmafleet:
Goons new player Corp. Involved recruitment process (API required), but very stable and large area of nullsec space with good logistics to move loot out to markets.

- Members: 3500 (part of Alliance with 18000 members)
- Sov Systems Owned: 88 + others in The Imerpium. All of Delve is owned
- Expectation: No change in the neat future. They will continue to own Delve for a long while now
- Dotlan info: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/corp/KarmaFleet

Pandemic Horde:
Pandemic Legion aligned new player Corp. Currently involved in a war to establish lucrative nullsec space and they have started winning now. Tribute will be very good once they own it. However they do own other nullsec space. Simple recruitment (no checks, just apply and they'll accept).

- Members: 11004 (part of Alliance with 11277 members)
- Sov Systems Owned: 15 (across 3 regions. 8 is the most in a single Region, in Fade)
- Expectation: More sov to be owned in Tribute shortly
- Dotlan info: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/Pandemic_Horde

Brave Newbies:
The former go to Corp and Alliance for all new players. Went through some troubles, because kids running a major business doesn't always work out. Have stabilised under the leadership of probably the games craziest CEO at the moment, and seem to be recovering some of their former status as a Corp/Alliance to go to. They don't own a huge area of sov currently, but they do offer a number of Corps with different focus and can provide lots of support for explorers.

- Members: 2242 (part of Alliance with 3074 members)
- Sov Systems Owned: 7 (essentially 1 constellation in Fade)
- Expectation: Uncertain what they will do next. Could stay where they are for a while, or join some new fight club, or have another coup. Who knows.
- Dotlan info: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/corp/Brave_Newbies_Inc.

Brand Newbros:
TEST Alliance new player Corp. Like Karmafleet, they have a huge area of stable nullsec to explore in and good support all around. TEST are heavily involved in the war that Horde are also involved in (but on the other side), but there are still lots of options for other activities (the war isn't in their space).

- Members: 350 (part of Alliance with 8000 members)
- Sov Systems Owned: 67. Most of Vale of The Silent
- Expectation: No change in the neat future, though the the Alliance is always active fighting somewhere
- Dotlan Info: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/corp/Brand_Newbros

Of all of those, really Brand Newbros and Karmafleet probably just nudge it because of the amount of nullsec space you can easily access with support nearby.

Brand Newbros would be my current recommendation overall, just because the recruitment is a bit easier than Karmafleet, but once Horde finally take Tribute, they'll go back to the #1 recommendation for me.

Also, don't pass up on the idea of wormholes too (as mentioned above):

Thank you very much, a lot to mull over. I do like the concept for signal cartel, but I don't think I'd like being restricted to just exploration, I want to keep my options open.

On paper your recommendation seems the most appealing, particularly having such a large area of space. Are there any obligatory requirements to join battles or anything? For the moment, fleet fights isn't an interest. I don't want to be yelled at to join some huge fight lol.
