skill training speed difference between alphas and omegas

hey dudes,

is there anywhere any specific info regarding this? ISD in chat said that alphas will train skills slower, and patch notes specifically say that omegas will train skills faster, but what exactly does it mean?
will omegas have the same SP/hr as before and alphas will have theirs reduced? or vice versa? and by how much?

I've seen the "half speed" number mentioned on Reddit too, and they probably got it from the test server, so it may not be quotable.

Should be easy to check: the regular training speed is your primary attribute + 1/2 secondary attribute, per minute. So you look at what skill you have in the queue, figure out what its primary and secondary attributes are from its description / info window, then you add up your attributes and figure out per minute, per hour (typical Omega account with an attribute remap that favors the skill and +3 implants is 2520 points per hour, maxed out with +5 implants is 2700).

Then you compare to how fast your alpha character is training.

Alphas train at 50% of omega rate- not that I've confirmed since update, but that was the stated rate last devblog.

It clearly says "2x training speed enabled" in the new character sheet, so yes, Omegas will have 2x the training speed.

Even at half speed, 5m isn't that long to train, and you already start with 500k I started with no where near that much, and I spent the first few weeks training, learning skills. So glad those are gone. There are cheap implants to improve your training time for a few point, and the more expensive ones for 4 or 5 points. Also, you get a mini-skill injector in your tutorial.

Anyway, there SHOULD be incentives to pay, CCP needs money to support the game and make it grow. Really, Alpha states are sorta a return to the old standard without learning skills trained. When learning skills were removed, they were incorporated into everyone's existing training rate so it wouldn't feel like a nerf.

So not a poop clone state. You can do a lot more with the alpha clones that was ever available for the old trial, even extended trials with content packs.

well, yeah, I can see that. the question was twice the training speed of what exactly?
I made an alpha and can confirm now that omega's SP/hr is same as before, and alpha's is half of that.

Sorry if I dont get it but I swear I read all the comment here, and still have the same question:

Do Omega clones skills lvl up 2x faster than before? or alpha clones just lvl up skills half of the time than before?

I read the devlog when they first posted it and they said alpha clones were going to lvl up skills half the time, but now when I log in and read about it it says "omega clones lvl up 2x times faster".

Can someone just tell me how it is? :)

Omega training times are exactly the same as before the update. 2x faster is relative to alpha clones.

it is a marketing trick aimed solely at new players who dont know that omega's SP/hr was like that for many years.
