Capsuleers;

ARC is starting to receive reports of Vigilant Tyrannos attacks against CONCORD signatory research facilities.

Initial camera drone footage follows.

It was Kisogo, now Urlen. Maker, our media presence's paying off. We will be sorting out information as it comes through - right now our focus is to scramble a party to the location.

We're starting to hear similar reports from other core signatory systems; will see if we can sort drone footage from those. The sound of it is that this may have been a coordinated attack on R&D assets, and much more targeted than the Throne Worlds campaign.

So much for them not being a threat to the other empires. Whether we caused it or not is irrelevant at this point. They're attacking everyone now it seems.

This footage appears to have some sort of field effect active. Can you identify it? Prior to this I had not heard of Drifters using Command Boosts of any kind.

Time to pull double shifts in Lazarus burning their J-Space cousins and keeping my eye out for any change in activity.

Our recon/strike team has eliminated a Hive at Niyabainen. Drifter and Seeker assets on site, including an apparently-subverted capital ship, were strangely weakened, falling rapidly to capsuleer frigates and a Caldari Navy strike force. The Hive itself, normally impregnable, fell against even frigate-scale firepower in seconds. However, the destabilized Hive also generated an initial blast that annihilated our craft, and a warp-scrambling effect that prevented our pods from warping out. A secondary blast destroyed our pods. We were just kind of lucky it didn't interfere with our cloning transfer.

To be clear: this was a Drifter Hive present in a Nexus-like distortion in Caldari high-security space.

Update!

As one report shows, the fighting took place in three systems - Kisogo, Urlen and Niyabainen, with other reports verifying clashes occurring in the high-security systems of the Federation, Republic, and Empire.

The footage we received from one of the State trainees shows several encounters.

The first being some sort of excavation site/battleground. Our analysts were able to discern wreckage of battleships, capitals and titans, some of them being from Empire, State, Federation, Republic, and, most curiously, SOE. An unknown fence-looking device activation has been registered in that area.

The second portion of the footage shows Caldari Navy staging area. It looks like Navies are picking up on the new technology provided by Upwell.

Third part of the footage shows Drifter Hives in Known Space. There’s no other way to say this: a Hive was present in the K-Space system of Niyabainen. The good and comforting news are that evidently Empires know more than they are willing to say, or else are more fortunate than we have been so far. The Hive was destroyed in a brief but spirited fight. Additionally, according to the holo that was received, the area around it wasn’t the same as we are used to see in the ones that ARC penetrates in Anoikis: only one vortex was present in the area, it was pulling debris in and had a yellow-ish, star-like terminus.

We are currently in a process of compiling a holovid for your convenience; more footage will follow.

So-- this is just speculation right now, but it might be that whatever effect is allowing a Hive to abruptly appear in K-space is also severely weakening Drifter systems to the point where vulnerabilities are really easy to exploit.

If so, and if there are Hives appearing in other K-space systems, it's going to be important to keep any from stabilizing. If they manage to harden their defenses the way Hives have in Drifter-fortified systems, we might not be able to dislodge them again.

It seems likely, given the nature of the Nexus anomaly in this site, that it served as a massive rift to transit the Hive into known space.

The question is this: where did this Hive originate from? And is that yellow-ish glow a star? If so, this means the system was not a shattered system, which are all A0IV stars.

Additionally, we now have verification that standard ship systems can parse Drifter battleship wreckage.

I'm going to take the liberty of authorizing the following bounties for guiding core ARC personnel to any of these sites of suspected Drifter activity, to see if unknown wrecks in those sites can now be identified as Drifter ships: Sleeper Superior Cache, archival zone; Silent Battleground.

Initial bounties are 250m and 500m, respectively, doubled in case of positive identification of Drifter wreckage.

Are we forming a chorus?

That said, Ms. Lagann, Ms. Edios, pilots generally: rumor is that these attacks were, respectively, on convoys transporting Sisters of EVE personnel and research sites operated by the Sisters of EVE on behalf of the various CONCORD signatory powers. Given that the Sisters have evidently been attempting to reverse-engineer Drifter technology, and using Drifter biotechnology in particular in the development of the Alpha clone technology, could this be a targeted reprisal?

This may give some weight to Pharos of Thera's arguments...?

Maybe there is a reason the Drifters don't want us to have this technology. So far all Drifter attacks seem to be focused on preventing the use of new technology, perhaps the Pharos of Thera group have an inside line on why.

So, there's an op tonight, right?

We're checking out the Hive structures and Nexuses and maybe doing something about this, right? Really really quickly?

Because this really isn't good.
