So, cutting ice today and thinking how i wish there was some way to have gas harvesting between 0.0 and 0.5 with out having to go into a wormhole. Any chance CCP will ever offer this to us?

Another idea, I wish flares where an option in the game to fend off ganker attacks. Suppose an industrial is mining, they get locked, hit the warp and spew a series of flares into the face or faces of their attackers, kinda like modern day fighter jets do to confuse missiles!

Now, what if the above gas idea is used to build said flares!?

Don't know, just thinking.....please be gentle...

There's already multiple solutions for this, called D-scan / watching local / staying aligned / not being AFK / having friends for protection.

Orca / Rorqual are being given some really nasty teeth in Ascension too.

The module you are looking for is called ECM.

It even comes in a drone variant! And since I did not come across gas mining drones yet, I think they are a perfect fit for your operation since throughout your AFK activities you can pray to RNGjesus and then jam all the things.

Also use mining op as bait, uncloack badass stuff get dank kills, become 1337 pvper.

between 0.0 - 0.5 offers ice, mine ice, also gid gud.

To the post:
The topic name fails to describe the idea within. I know it's not common sense, not even a common decency, it is just a good way to get the like the idea OUT there on a higher level.
The structuring could be better, it always can be, but good.

There are already a couple areas in null that have gas. Go move to one of them.

Not just Null sec. High sec also has low end gas sites and Low sec has low end and high end gas sites. However, these gasses are only for combat booster production. Judging by his statement that he wants to gas mine without having to go to W-space, he wants to mine Sleeper gas for T3 production. That should never be possible in any K-space area.

On the other side, I don't remember being able to get booster gas out of wormholes. But then again, I could be wrong here. I only really dealt with c6s, so maybe it appears in lower ones...

Roll Oops, forgot to add the point I wanted to make.

The point is, OP, every area has its own little benefits to choosing the lifestyle that comes with living there. You can mine gas in null if you want to. You'll have to change what you produce out of that gas, but the activity is still there.
