Best bang for the time- LP's

Apart from doing Angel missions, which seem to pay out quite a bit, are there any other factions that seem to pay out a decent amount? Or are the hi sec agents all the same in terms of LP's ?
I don't want to spend all my time grinding missions, but I'd like to pop up to Empire now and again and do the odd mission here and there- kinda like some R&R you know ?
I was looking at the Ministry of Internal Order but a guy on the other thread was saying that the LP's from them aren't really worth it.
Any ideas?

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Or to go into a bit more detail, no one is going to tell you the best way to convert your LP -- not by faction, store type, or specific item. The reason for this is simple: the more people who realize the current "best" way to convert LP, the less profitable it becomes. This leads to two conclusions. First, LP store profitability fluctuates fairly quickly as people shift around. Second, competition dictates that sharing is bad for business.

There are some general trends though. Military stores are generally not as good as industrial stores. BPCs are often more profitable than items if you can be bothered with production (but most definitely check your total costs). Ships are usually awful unless you are converting faction warfare LP. Implants are lowish but consistent, though their volume can kinda suck. Frigate sized modules aren't just bad, they often sell at an absolute loss.

Most importantly, tag prices are your driving force behind conversion ratios. Buying from sell orders is almost always a terrible idea, so get some decent buy orders out there. And do your math. Most stores have some reasonable items but you'll have to do the math for yourself. Spreadsheets are your friend here (and barring that, at least pull up the in game calculator before you commit).

Don't do what I did and take a lack of T2 ammo on the Market as an open door to make loads of money and convert all your LP into that ammo and then place it on the market. X

That lasted all of one day before about 15 other people put ammo on the market at a much lower price. That was a few months ago and I still cannot get it on the market at a reasonable price.

And by T2 I'd assume you mean faction.

That aside, there's another point to be made here. Most LP store items are not on the market; ships, ammo, and implants are. This can be an advantage or a disadvantage. It's good for you because spotting trends on contracts can be a real *****. But it's bad because market tools are available to anyone, effectively lowering the barrier to entry and often cutting into your margins.

Contracts also differ from the market in that they aren't bound by region, so global changes in contract prices tend to occur more quickly than global market changes, opening some opportunity for cross region profit-taking on, say, the aforementioned faction ammo. But at some point in all this you also have to start valuing the time it takes you to realize profit from LP (and you definitely should set a non-zero value for the time you could have spent doing something else, in-game or otherwise).

^^

This is why I run either anomalies or the "much MUCH simpler to convert LPs to isk" Nullsec Pirate Agent Missions (ie run missions for guristas agent, get crystal implant set, sell, profit lol).

Thanks for the replies guys. I want to stress that I am in no way a hard core trader or missioner and all I'm looking to do is come up to hi sec for a day here and there, chill and relax while doing some decent missions.
I have a ton of LP's from the Angel missions though and I'll be jumping some stuff from their store to hi sec for the market.

More just looking for a decent organization to do missions for, you know, sit back in my uber fitted Tengu and have a beer kind of thing Big smile
Cheers

Even if someone gave you "trade secrets" it wouldn't matter. Everyone is constantly updating their important internet spaceship spreadsheets . One item maybe be 3kISK/LP one month, two months later sufficient number of people would have noticed that and it would drop, and so on. It also has to do with what current FOTM is.

Smaller factions are better then. SoE is probably back on the upswing.

Or yeah just take that Tengu out exploring. A handful of 6/10s and you'll be asking yourself why you ever cared about, umm, all the stuff I just wrote.
