Refund of Leadership SP?

With such immense changes to the Leadership (or Fleet Support as it is going to be called) are the SP we have spent in Leadership going to be refunded... so we can at least choose where to distribute them?

A lot of pilots have spent 1 to 2 years worth of training Leadership for a specific purpose.. Said purpose may now be totally pointless to them. It's not like WE had a choice in the changes (the average pilot in small corps or alliances).

I certainly wouldn't have spent all the points in this tree having known that it would become on-grid boosting only.

At least refund it and give us a choice of where to spend our long trained skills.

Don't mention "skill injectors" instead... when you are only getting 150000sp for about 600 million ISK it's a joke!

No, there is no indication that any skill points will be refunded.

All the skills will still have uses after the changes so there is nothing to refund.

You had an advantage for many years where you had those skills trained. That is your reward.

I also have a fully skilled booster pilot with leadership skills, but I am an adult and understand the risk of training something in a game were heavy handed balances are common. Those SPs gave me an advantage, and now they give me a smaller one.

That is fine by me. It will not have effect on my playstyle except I will bring my booster ongrid instead now. And it is the same for every one.

So stop whining you knew it was possible that changes could happen when you trained it, like with every thing you train. It could be nerfed every second.

CCP has already made clear this will not happen. Do not be that person who wants to whistle and have flour in his mouth at the same time..................... no one likes him

Every leadership skill remains useful, improving range, duration or strength of the burst. Forget about refunds - it isn't going to happen. If you don't want the skills, extract and sell them.

CCP has said for many years that they want to make boosting on-grid at some point, but needed to finish some tech first to be able to do it. The change really shouldn't have surprised anyone.

Extract the skills if you think you really don't need them.

Pretty much this.
CCP has already stated, in no uncertain terms, there will be no reimbursement for the leadership skills because they remain useful, and have an appropriate in game function.

They want to sell skill extractors, why would they give free refunds. I agree with the op on this but CCP has a vested interest in micro transactions now. Freebies are a thing of the past. It's all about the $$$$.

Or
just roll with this idea for a second
The skills are still useful and completely functional
And have no reason to be reimbursed.

Heard of the issues with Samnsung Washing machines exploding lately? Samsung could say, we'll you had the advantage of washing your clothes for 6 months so we won't refund you while everyone elses washing machines are working fine.

Same thing, sure you had the advantage of boosting other people (note not yourself if solo) for x years however now you don't while other people that chose to put their skill points (which they paid real money for like boosting skills) into other areas and had the advantage over the same period and STILL have the advantage after your advantage is negated.

CCP have a long long history of screwing over their loyal players, and you certainly had to be a loyal player to train the over the top requirements of a fully skilled boosting alt.

This is nothing new but stop making excuses for them I'm sure they'll manage to ignore any feedback without your fanboism buttkissing.

(1) This change was flagged literally years in advance. CCP have openly and in the plainest possible language been advising that this change was a "done deal" from a balance/gameplay point of view at least as far back as 2013. By the OPs own account he started training well after this point. He hasn't had any implicit deal broken by CCP.

(2) The skills aren't being made useless; this isn't an "exploding washing machine" scenario. In fact they'll still do the same job they always did. Gang boosters are going to be needed in considerably larger numbers than before. He hasn't been robbed.

(3) Even the specific build the OP is referring will still be useful, if he can bear to pay attention to his boost alt every 90 seconds. He hasn't even been asked to pay anything to continue using his character.

CCP Falcon has already stated in the Designated thread for this change that there will be no refund of skill points as the skills are still useful. You play the game with the understanding that things may change as CCP works to keep the game balanced, healthy, and engaging.
