Another quick explo question...

This time it involves another player. There is a guy who has tried to sneak up on me in a relic site twice now; and who has indicated that he is not going to stop trying to kill me as long as I'm in a particular area. I got away though because I have warp core stabilizers, so he wasn't able to pin me down. My question is, can/do players fit multiple warp disruption modules on their ships in order to overcome a ship's warp stabs; or would this particular person need to rouse a small fleet in order to tackle me? In other words, how common is "vendetta fitting" (for lack of a better phrase)?

Thanks,

MM

yes people fit multiple warp scramblers to catch people with stabs and it is very common

So seems like I should just avoid this guy then...

Avoid him, or hunt him.

Have a few friends waiting, put a combat fit on an exploration ship, tackle him when he tries to grab you and have your fleet take him out. Tell him you will keep baiting and killing him as long as he issues stupid threats

Thanks all. I am pretty passive and don't have a lot of friends, so I will probably just avoid this guy. He doesn't seem like the brightest bulb in the universe anyway. I appreciate your input.

You'll make friends along the way, from all walks of Eve if you're lucky.

In the meantime, get to know the locals where you're currently flying, right click on the guys name in local and set his standings to terrible so that he shows up in a rather fetching shade of red whenever he's in the same system as you.

You could also move your area of operations, there's huge expanses of space in hisec, lowsec and nullsec where you'll be lucky to see 5 people in local. I rat with an alt in a constellation that averages between 10-15 anoms per system when I log in, because nobody goes there; as anoms are run they respawn elsewhere, quiet systems tend to gather lots of them over the day; the same may well be true of exploration sites.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Pretty common for an explorer/venture popping ship to have a pair of scramblers on it, so you'd need 4 warp core strength to fend that off.

People do fit multiple warp disruption modules, and now that he knows you have warp core stabilizers, chances are he will fit more on his ship for his next engagement.

The most people will usually go for is 2 warp scramblers, which means you will need atleast 4+ warp core stabilizers.

Good luck.

It's normal for active hunters to fit two scrams or a scram and a long point. This guy sounds like an opportunist and is probably a disgruntled explorer who sees you as someone who is 'urinating on his tree', as it were.

And if he really is a solo hunter, depending on what he's flying you can fit an astero to do relic sites but still armor tank and scram/web. I'm not quite sure how well it works since I haven't gotten in a fight with another combat fit ship with it yet, but if solo vs. solo I would imagine it to work quite well.

He has been operating in an Astero, like me. I don't think he actually explores. He uses data/relic sites as bait for actual explorers. The first time I lost my Astero, it was to an opportunistic player like this. The guy is 96% snuggly on zkill, so he's obviously trying to pad his killboard with easy wins.

Also, he's probably Russian judging by the Russian in his bio... so, there will be large amounts of time when he is asleep, I assume, that I can explore to my heart's content. On the other hand, when I'm asleep, he can't catch me in my bed. It's essentially a losing battle for him.
