Needs more exclamation marks...t

It's an expensive, capital ship, designed to be deployed in areas of unrestricted PVP. That currently nobody uses because it's too expensive to lose.

Let's analyze your troll post from the beginning:

1. We already seriously doubt CCP's ability to test things properly. From boot.ini to a slew of other bugs, there's a HISTORY of them not being able to do it. In addition, there's only so much they can do to test; if you want more, log into Sisi and voice your concerns there. Because otherwise you know what's going to happen? They'll release the ship to TQ so we can test it there.

2. Nullsec alliances are there to PVP. The Rorqual, and mining fleets, are totally an afterthought. You can get richer, and thus buy minerals, by doing anomalies, collecting moon goo, building supercaps, and so on. Your calculations of how much will be mined completely ignore how much ore is available in the belts; it's not unlimited. 3 hulks can wipe out a high-sec belt in a couple hours; 6 hulk can wipe out a nullsec belt in the same time, and then it won't regenerate for a few days.

2b. But yes, this will have an effect on mining everywhere. Actually just in high-sec, where mining will become completely unprofitable. And CCP is adding NPC miners to take away the ore from the belts. So I think the message is clear.

3. 3000 DPS lol. Large capital fleets, they exist, no? I mean, everybody's itching for a reason to bring them out to play. It'll be like citadels, bring out the capital fleets, blow up the citadels, that's what they're there for. Seriously, get a clue, CCP's intentions aren't to promote PVE / carebear play.

4. The PANIC button is ****; you're stuck, unable to move, unable to be repaired, for 5-7 minutes, all the more time for the enemy fleet to arrive and blow you up. It doesn't offer anything except a delay of the explosion; it's like being perma-bumped. You haven't died yet, but you will, no doubt about that.

5. A bunch of titans can one-shot your Rorquals with their superweapons.

So, yeah. Please stop making posts like this, or if you absolutely have to, use the existing feedback thread.

But it will not be "a expensive capital ship" for alliances with these. They will just make more and more of them. 3billion isk is not a lot of isk and neither is 30billion isk when that 30billion isk can mine 40billion isk in less than a week. Then buy another 30billions worth of these ships and Mine 30billion isk in 3 days.

Last I checked, capital ship construction takes months. And the location where they're building is vulnerable to attack.

You're throwing numbers around like they're nothing, and you're forgetting that the Rorqual is a ship. One person owns it, not the alliance. Unless the alliance provides a ship replacement program (SRP), that one person takes it out, loses it, and then they're down 3 billion. Would you join a nullsec alliance if they told you to buy your own Rorqual, bring it over, and mine with it, with ore going to the alliance?

Do you have an Orca? Are you using it for the benefit of your player corp, or selfishly for your own alts? Would you take it into lowsec? Null?

Are you aware that everyone can see, on the map, where people mine in null? There's an "index". It lights up, "come and attack me here, I'm using Rorquals to mine a lot."

I started as a miner. First two months with a few lev 3 missions a day to start. I didn't even feel lowly. Not even after yall told me (I was listnin' a little) that i was a basic chump fer doin' it. It was alright. But in the end, yall were right, it just wasnt doin it just to slave to be a free playing slave. Dude, there are Russians out there ready to get pissed at the drop of a hat. New dudes mining you can scare by dropping yer othrus right on em. Lies to tell people ;) It turns out if you just give in to the base need-want to be a butt-hole ... well, money finds a way. Just my uninformed, off topic come-and-shoot-me post of the month. Carry on.
Also the door to the head in my Captain Dingles quarters is STILL stuck closed.

And? I am looking forward to Rorqual PVP. Gonna bait me some low sec super carriers hit EHE and watch what happens. Hopefully the drops and counter drops will result in some excellent mods i can tractor in and then just re-dock with. Yummy.

Thanks for pointing it out, I guess nobody's noticing it. If the new Rorqual is what makes it impossible to remove the power blocks, then I guess you better hurry and remove them, before the patch hits. Should be easily possible without the Rorqual, right?

The PANIC button is meant as a last ditch effort time buffer to call for reinforcements. If you are taking a 4+ billion ISK ship out in a belt to mine and you don't have backup on standby you're doing it wrong. The Rorq is very different from other capitals in that it often doesn't travel in large groups. It sits in a belt surrounded by ships that can't help it when its in trouble. That is why the Rorq is the only ship to get the PANIC button, so you can sit in a belt by yourself and still give your friends the time they need to respond to major threats without them having to babysit you.

It certainly isn't meant as a solo weapon that you activate and somehow the bad guys go away? Anyone who even thinks of using it in that fashion is going to end up with a very expensive killmail.

It does seem a slight over powered. Mainly because I can't understand why it has not had a more specialized buff.. Or more of a normal buff. Like surely it would of been fine like this:

The mining rate of 4 hulks in industrial mode and 2 hulks outside.
Industrial mode has a 10 second offline.
Boost its align time and give it +2 warp core per level.
Give better boosts to other mining ships than proposed so that it is better to bring one Rorqual to boost the fleet while still giving personal rewards to the pilot.
Also a better bonus/change would of been a mining ship jump portal. So the Rorqual could instrument sneaking a mining operation into null. mining a profitable and desirable amount and getting it back home.


Main issue I can see is that the changes are based on the scenario of 1 Rorqual being used by a mid sized corp or small alliance in some system maybe 5 jumps into null. It's not a big picture change that factors in how they will actually get used by certain players or player groups. I would of though by now CCP would have learned that null groups especially will find the most exploitative ways to use anything. The benefits the proposed changes offer to smaller groups are amazing. But yes it's without a doubt going to scale and yes I can see how it would scale very badly to favor certain established groups with control of certain regions of the game. And I am concerned if the long term effects of this scaling have been adequately considered.
