Why are Rosada Dawn skins only for Industrial Ships?

To me this serves a dual purpose:

1) It reinforces the ideology that industrialists/carebears are effeminate, weak characters, as the pink skin is exclusively for them.

2) It precludes non-industrialists from being able to show awareness for breast cancer. What about nice pink catalysts for all the gankers who may have lost a loved one to the big C?

Sort it out CCP.

There is a chance the explanation is something very inane, such as a dev making Hello Kitty SKINs in their spare time, and then it being on-hand when this opportunity arose.

Got to agree with the OP here. Although I can and do fly most of the ships that these skins came out for, surely the non-industry spec characters would have contributed given an option!

Note: statement, not question

Next time you [CCP] have a good cause for us to champion, aim as low as noobships if you have to. We want to come help. Sometimes you just aim at a segment when all will answer the call.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Additionally OP, your 2nd point is in conflict with your 1st point, unless your point is that you also want to be "effeminate, weak characters" or realize that you are and need to come out of the closet.

No I perhaps didn't phrase it well enough.

I meant the general concensus of PVP types is that carebears are weak (and possibly effeminate) and that 'wearing pink', albeit for the right reasons, would cement that stereotype further.

By doing this, CCP are, by allowing only mining ships to wear this skin, further driving a wedge between the two sides of New Eden and, furthermore, expecting that only industrialists would be interested in any charity.

To be clear I am of course L33T and kill all that comes my way, collecting corpses and even making local blush.
I do however wish to support a good cause, and if that means I get to have a pink Retribution, then so be it.

Also how dare you to assume that pink is a feminine colour.

There's a big push right now with the overhaul of industrial ships. Makes sense as another way to highlight them.

However, I wouldn't mind a pink Thorax skin. ;)

I think skins for the newbie insurance ships would be pretty sweet.

I have never had to run screaming from a carebear corporation, so this is true.

But I would TOTALLY fly a pink Gila.

Something about cancer charity skins for combat focused ships seems off to me. I think putting them on industrials seems appropriate, but I'd like to see them expanded to logi ships too, since they're for the healing.

I mean in an ideal world we could just get all color skins for all ships though, but that's not the model CCP decided to go with.

Just the Svipul. Even pvpers agree that is cancer, so giving it a charity SKIN would be a step too far.

But other ships are fine, unless you are trying to imply that all pvp in the game is cancer. If so, oh god.

I agree with the op that all ships should be given a chance at this eve is an amazing community and will always come together for a good cause. My wife has been battling breast cancer for the last 6 months and because of work and dealing with that I haven't been on I awhile so when I renewed my sub the first thing that I saw was this and I about lost it it touched me so deeply . So thank you CCP for making this I truly do appreciate your thoughtfulness but I'm sure that there are others out there that would love to fly this on there ships to help raise awareness of this terrible affliction .

I'm a carebear, I love pink ships, IRL....doesn't bother me what people think, they don't personally know me, but it be funny if someone said look at the pansies in pink ships then got owned by one, like the vid of the drag queens who knocked those guys heads, classic.

I don't suppose it occurred to you that CCP would do such a thing on purpose?

Because given how much CCP Falcon seems to want carebears to suffer, I wouldn't rule that out.

I'm not actually trying to be edgy and use "cancer" as a way to describe something I don't like.

I'm saying that the pink skins are for donating to heal an actual disease, so having them avaliable primarily for ships that aren't focused on agression seems more appropriate. Kinda like selling pink shotguns for breast cancer would seem weird.
