Alpha Clone Clarification

Now, I read through the Dev Blogs, but I am a bit confused about something. I saw the line about trying to create an Alpha character alt and how that would be subject to penalty if you already have an Omega clone account. Also, an Alpha clone cannot log in if there is already an Alpha clone account or an Omega clone account on that system. And that trying to work around this would be penalized as well.

So, to the question I'm looking for clarification upon, as I've already seen a few others discuss wanting to do what I'm questioning. I Remote Desktop, Hot Bot, or however into a second computer, am I doing something that will be against the updated EULA? From the way I read that, yes, I am, and my account should be penalized, however, the question of how that could possibly be enforced also came up.

You understood exactly what it said. Don't be obtuse. You're not clever, and neither is your workaround. Will they actually detect it in an enforceable manner? Who knows. If you catch a banhammer for it though, do us all a favor and get banned quietly.

Few things are more insufferable than listening to cheaters whine about the consequences of cheating.

You assume much and understand little. I said I've seen other discuss it wanting to do this. I already have enough Omega accounts to keep me busy.

Just a point... If CCP has a way to detect you are using a remote desktop, why would they announce this? By announcing they would provide details that could aid in people working around the system. Think about this, if you have security on your house, do you announce how that security works and where it is located? I doubt it as that would only encourage people to find work around to the security you posted.

Also, just like any idi*t who thinks he can outsmart the system in EVE, you grossly underestimate how much CCP can track and see. They will put 1 and 1 together faster than you can say "why the f*ck was I banned now?!".

Yeah, no. 90% of players will not be using complicated methods to use an Alpha clone next to their Omega clone. Too much effort for most people, not to mention that Alpha clones are completely useless for a majority of applications you might want one for. I can't really think of any reason why I'd want to have an Alpha account logged in at the same time as my Omega. They can't cloak, they can't cyno, they can't research, they mine for ****, they're in no way a decent addition to a PVE fleet. Anything you'd want an alt for is locked behind Omega features.

Why would you risk all your accounts getting banned just to have a few extra 5 million sp T1 frigate/cruiser pilots?

I can't begin to understand why someone would risk it if CCP says don't do it, but I can think of a good use for an Alpha clone. Make a Gallente one. Perfect ore hauler for the solo Hulk, at no cost. I'll admit, before CCP said 'don't do that' it is what I was planning to do.
