Hey guys so look. I would like to haul some stuff out of low sec with a freighter. My corp mates have offered to support.

The area is filled with the pvp type typicals. Predominantly cruisers and lower. Gate camping in numbers less than 6.

What sort of set up would be suggested or tactics employed to pull this off?

- Do it off the local population peak timezone if you can, try to go around the most direct path, they will usually be the most camped (Use DOTLAN or in-game map statistics).

- Use a couple scouts, make off-grid gate bookmarks. If you are suspicious someone has set up a trap on a gate, they will trigger it when you enter warp and your direction is known. Nice to see Local light up and you actually never landing on that gate. Alternatively, warp to celestials close to gates if available to throw off traps.

- USE WEBBERS. A Rapier with triple web will do marvel to get you in warp faster. Rapier/Falcon can double as one of the scouts.

- Have a Falcon or 2 on hand to break points if all else fails.

Alternatively, bring the scouts, webber and Falcon(s) and a crapton of dps/logi escort.

'If they take the ship, they'll rape us to death, eat our flesh, and sew our skins onto their clothing. And if we're very, very lucky, they'll do it in that order.'

Yeah, we're like that.

Hey thanks for the reply. I intend to do future business in the area so I am getting bookmarks now to d scan the gates in and out. The scout was a given. It sounds like you suggest 2 webs on the freighter for faster warp?

Do you guys think an ew ship with a couple damps to neut long range dps and ecm bursts to break targets would be an effective strategy? All will have warp stabs as the objective is not kills but survival.

I know the only danger spot is the warp after jump.

You might also try moving the smaller valuables in a Blockade Runner. With good piloting and skills they laugh at anything outside of bubble country. People will tend to assume you are loaded with goodies, of course...

The webs are fitted to a friendly ship who then activates them on the freighter, this will shorted the align time and get you into warp faster.

In my honest opinion I wouldn't entertain the idea of moving that flying Kill Mail through Low Sec, for this to go horribly wrong for you all that someone needs to do it keep bumping your freighter till more of his friends arrive. In this case your only option would be to engage the bumper and take gate guns.

Currently going through courts to get access to my son. Greatfully accpting doantions to help me keep plexed. Much Love.

If they're your local pirates, you should get to know them. Do some hauling for them (they must need supplies, too). Who knows? might be a money-spinner and the start of something socially rewarding for you.

If you do decide to go the confrontational route, you need to do some work. It's the How, Who, What, When, Where?-intel game. Most groups are just that; they change very little if at all. Find out who they are, what they fly, when they're usually on, and where.

07.00 BST (06.00 ET) is great for Lowsec stuff; but I'm an early riser, so no problem.

Anyway, Good Luck with your efforts. Do come back and let us know how it goes!

Go all Road Warrior and move a freighter with worthless cargo. Meanwhile all your smaller ships will have the valuable stuff and make a run for it.

But seriously, scouts and Rapier webbing the freighter are your best bet. Try to find a quiet time.

If the area is too camped it might be worth looking for a wormhole. Either a direct low to highsec one, one to a different part of low or one to a WH system that contains a highsec wormhole. A couple of days acanning and you should find a way out

If highsec is more than one jump away from your lowsec system where your freighter is, it's going to be a very risky business escorting it, even with webbing and scouting. Your scout might see that the gate next system is clear, but by the time your freighter lands there situation might change, especially if there are people in local who might see your freighter on d-scan. In that case, it's much more secure to use a jump freighter, if your cargo allows it (if you don't have one, you can contract your stuff to corps like Black Frog and PushX).

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

set a bm 5000k off the gate with a frigate in high sec.

Just before dt and i mean 2 mins before dt downtime warp the freighter there and any back up ships.

watch dt start back up and login and warp to gate jump and warp off. Usually takes about 2-3 mins and in that time EvE is pretty dead or docked up.

If you told us your starting point and your destination, it may make it us easier for us to provide assistance. It helps to know who the locals are and such.

A Jump Freighter to the nearest system with a high sec gate....thats your setup.

A lot of good advice there!

Also you could try scouting out a lowsec to hisec wormhole, they're not common but they do spawn occasionally.

An alternative to consider is a courier contract(s) either all in one freighter sized shot or in smaller blockade runner/deep space transport sized contracts. Just make sure the collateral exceeds your potential loss in case someone takes the contract and likes your stuff more than the isk.

Why yes, we are all very curious as to where you are going and from where.

It will help with the ...um...planning.

Yeah, planning.

Stop.

Use a jump freighter.
