What kind of blueprint copies will people buy? (sorry if repost)

I'm an explorer that for some reason runs data and relic sites. I frequently find blueprint copies that when plugged into eve-industry blueprint calculator give me insane potential profits of over a billion per run. I want to know if anyone will buy these blueprints (sansha control towers, beam laser batteries, etc.), as well as other less lucrative blueprints such as implants and mobile depots. If so, what's the usual split of the manufacturing profits from the bp? I've heard from some more industry-leaning friends that it is 80/20 in favor of the seller of the blueprint but I'm not quite sure I believe that kind of ratio. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Those blueprints you named are not worth much (as most of the BPCs from data and relic sites). You need to check the actual price of the input material against the price you can sell the stuff in a trade hub, the values in the industry window are not reliable. If you want a guesstimate on a BPC price check the contracts and put it up for what others are dealing with or less.

You may also plugin your BPC here to get the producers point of view: http://eve-industry.org/calc/

Most people don't want to build stuff, so one can often earn more by building and selling the items.

Structure BPC are not a good investment since the introduction of Citadels.

Most are rubbish, some will show decent profit on items that are pending big changes like faction towers, and finally some arnt bad to be fair, you just have to figure which ones to hoarde as rubbish, which ones to build from or maybe sell on to builders.

Best way to get a price for somthing that generally shows a profit is to calculate the build to produce it, the job cost and minus that from the sell value of finished item and take as much of a slice from that pie in difference as you like, the less you take of said pie the quicker said BPC might sell.

Though i should add i do see alot of explorers putting up tons of junk in a single contract and fetching more isk than youd get just trashing them, hoard em, 1mil start bid auction em off!, but for the LOVE OF GOD NO 7 DAY AUCTIONS Lol

Thanks for that heads up. I guess I'll just lump them into a single auction then. Are there any citadel BPC's to be found perchance?

Okay. that sounds like a good idea. How long do you think I should set the auction for then? And I would be doing this auction from a trade hub like Amarr or Jita, correct?

Thanks everyone who replied. Very helpful so far. I'm not that much of an industry person myself, but I may start skilling into it if it really is this lucrative sometimes.

In addition to the advice above, the quick and rough way would be to right click the BPC, View in Industry, then mouse over the '>' symbol that is closest to the centre left . This is a total of the input material values based on the 90 day rolling average. Then mouse over the output on the right.

If the inputs are say 500k and the output is 1 mill then you know that there is approximately 500k (per run) that could be split between the explorer and the industry guy.

This is ok as a rough estimate, and once you think something is profitable to produce, you can do a more exact calculation of total cost to produce and then decide what spilt there should be between you and the industry guy. 50 / 50 seems fair to me but I go for quick sales . Do what works for you.

There is an interesting point here ... what happens with faction tower BPCs when starbases are removed? May it be worth to keep them, and get something more valuable in exchange?
