you want to deal and tank em/th damage

so armour tank and lazers, missiles or projectiles firing emp

confessor is probably the smallest that could could probably run them. cruiser or bc is probably more comfortable.

I have been using a beam confessor can complete the site in sharpshooter mode no problem. Great for all the frigates in the first room, and the 5 cruisers in the second don't even hit me most of the time.

Also it's quick enough to get to the loot if you are running them in high sec :)

I fought for few celrebral accelerators yesterday and the most hard ship to beat was Gila. 50/50 chances for success, mostly because of enormous alfa from their drones. Actually Hurricane fleet can be also a very good choice because small medium guns have reasonable DPS and the projectile ammo is known for their good alfa.
If you just want to farm and not competite for the loot - you can use even confessor, what ever. Sooner or later you will have job done.

I've been having great luck in a Confessor myself. Contested 8, won 7.

Been using a standard complex vexor fit on my alt for this purpose, shield relays plus extenders.

I've been running a gila with a lot of success. Only lost out on one contest (and there were 4 people in with me, so I wasn't terribly surprised P )

Only problem with the gila is the frigates take forever. I could probably add an omni or something, but with the gila being shield tanked I wanted to err on the side of caution and go a little extra tank.

Medium autocannon alpha is not known for having good alpha, no, and using artillery would be shooting yourself in the foot in every site.

I normally use an Ishtar with Heavy Pretors for these sites. However...
I am currently able to Run the Gauntlets using a Drone Fit Astero using x5 T2 Hobs dealing 182 dps, with a speed tank fit.
My Fit is also able to take down the Battleship spawn aswell, altho it takes some time.

Cruiser or BC drone boat works really well. The AI appears to only shoot at my ship only, like the old AI. Drones that don't get aggro are handy in that first pocket, you'll get perma webbed a lot.

[edit] It's not to say drones don't get aggro at all, they appear to get shot at less in these gauntlets.

Drake works well, the drones eat up the frigs, I've also done it in a Moa, worked well for sniping.

When it's quiet in my PvP system I've been hopping into the occasional one in my minimal-tank pilgrim. Providing I maintain a decent ship orbit, 25km or so, they hardly touch me and my drones kill them quickly.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

I was using a Sacrilege for a while. I had issues with the frigs even using the Mjolnir Javelin Heavy Assault Missiles with a target painter. It took forever to kill a frig, much less 13 of them...even with Acolyte IIs.

But once I got into the next room, those cruisers would die in a glorious fire when I switched to Rage HAMs.

But I am done with the event, just not feeling it...

Try fitting RLML. That's what I did with my use-to-be-fit-with-HAM-Gile. Your missile DPS will drop but the significantly better application will make killing the frigs easier and the cruisers aren't very tanky anyways. Then again, we are in two different ships that both happen to be missile equipped. Maybe throw in a web or second TP even. Either that, or drop the Sac all together and hop in a drone boat. So far I've seen nothing but Gilas, Vexor Navy Issues, Ishtars, and pulse-fit energy boats like Legions, Zealots, and Confessors. Beyond that, I occasionally see a wildcard Tengu, Cerb, or even a Svipel once in a while. Hell, even saw a web-fit blaster Stratios working some sites yesterday and after asking him if he was running into any trouble with it, he said the tracking isn't perfect but the webs (two I think he said, both T2) really helped both him and his drones.

Honestly, seems like missiles are a ***** to use in this particular spawn...period.

Sleipnir master race. "Downgraded" to 220s to more easily hit orbiting frigates, still 3 volley cruisers at optimal. I've got 3 cold iron skins left to collect and I don't think I've cycled my shield booster more than a dozen times.

my other nano is a polycarb

Aye, this events frigates have definitely been upgraded from previous ones. I suspect they have stats similar to those found in the Sansha Incursions.

To use either heavy assault or plain heavy missiles requires a lot of web and/or target painter support. Rapid lights are the best choice.

Pretty much this... sleip is perfect... Monster shield tank with resists to EM/Ther, ALL the dmg and fast to boot.

I am using a zealot with 700 DPS with conflag. Warp in at 30 and kill frigates with scorch first. Works fine but i think a Gila might do better.

I use a shield fit Stratios. Drop drones, go have a coffee. Not really but I do them in nullsec.

There are very few npc pirates the sleip is incapable of shitting on. Great base resists? Check. Enough mobility to use either autocannons or arties, and an insane damage modifier so the cycle time of 720s doesnt seem like a problem when targets explode in a single volley.

ASB's or deadspace sheild boosters + 37.5% extra boost, and already high base resists all around... 'nuff said.

I have no desire to fly a capitol ship; I can fly a sleipnir.

Sleip can do!
