Apparently ISD think my last post was spam - so to restate, you have a socket close issue that is affecting at least 40 people I know.

just had a automatic "purge" when loading the launcher.

still no joy. Socket closes after i choose the character I want to sign in on.

Well now that we have some actual information, I would suggest you post over in this thread https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=495843&find=unread . It has the benefit of being in the correct forum and it would more like be seen by a DEV. I would suggest trying the work around provided in linked thread. Also if you are using a wifi connection with a weak signal or a repeater that has been known to causes issues. You can also file a support ticket.
