Rorqual bridging for Industrials

Seeing how the Rorqual is getting a major overhaul in purpose and function, I can see one other area that it could function. Bridging the mining fleets into the remote areas. As of now, it can haul ships in its maintenance array and pilots can ceptor to the site, but this is sub-optimal. especially if there are more miners in the fleet than space in the maintenance hold. By keeping this to industrial ships only and limited in distance, it can be used to get a mining fleet to the site without becoming a major force multiplier or taking the role of bridge from a Titan for combat ships.

I could see a scenario where a Prospect scout searches a target area for a good spot, lights a cyno, and suddenly barges. Once the area is secured, the Rorqual can jump in and commence operations until its time to move or go back when it can bridge the fleet back to home and then jump itself home.

I see value in the ability for a Rorqual to facilitate the movement of a fleet to and from the mining site, because traveling can be the most dangerous part of the whole process. It would allow an alliance to utilize a larger area without having to maintain redundant ships everywhere. But, for PVPers, it would give a mining fleet more incentive to be further from "home" and therefore potentially more exposed to ambushes or random encounters instead of the mining operation being in the middle of the sov-holders space and therefore the hardest to get to.

The biggest concern I see is this being something that is exclusive to Titans for most ships and BLOPS for Covops ships, and that this is too much for an already drastically buffed Rorqual. Would an alliance sacrifice a Rorqual if it could bridge out the rest of the fleet before getting tackled?

Yes please, I genuinely want to drop skiffs and rorquals on people to kill them, I will already use rorquals but skiffs have better tackle.

You are looking at this wrong, why bridge out when you can bridge in.

Top tier pvper and one of directors of The Conference Elite, recruiting is very selective.

ive suggested this a couple years ago. let it titan bridge industrials. it would make for a nice ninja mining extravaganza. bounce through null sec from enemy to enemy while no one is looking and strip their -.7 or better systems...and the vanish... =)
