How to select BPO in S&I interface?

I'm trying to do ME research on a BPO.


  • The BPO is in a station with ME facilities
  • The station is inside my Scientific Networking range
  • I have the Industry window open
  • The blueprint slot is empty
  • Screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/O00RA


I have tried:

  • Clicking the BPO in the list
  • Double-clicking the BPO in the list
  • Dragging the BPO into the slot
  • Right-clicking the BPO and selecting "Use blueprint"


What happens:

  • Nothing
  • Some other random blueprint ends up in the slot


What am I doing wrong?

Click the BPO in the list, click the ME research icon above the list or in the "Activities" column (so it's not on production or TE or copying), click start.

If they won't even go up into the blueprint window, that's odd, and I'd bug report it or maybe just try a good old cache flush. You should be able to view just about any BP in any mode in there, even without the facility.

Reminds of that joke about "there are two hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-one errors."

There's a variation as a JPEG "macro", the image is from the Monty Python "Spanish Inquisition" skit, and the text is roughly along the lines of "two hard things in computer science: cache invalidation, conc off-by-one error *%+%+%^[[BUFFER OVERFLOW]] urrency and"

I will try the cache flush when I get home. All this trouble because Evelopedia was taken away from us :(

So I used the "Verify" function, it processed 69419 files and deleted 10149 extra files.

*crosses fingers*

Okay, in a slightly better situation. If I click on a BPO it now sometimes appears in the BPO slot.

Then when I click the up/down arrows to increase the number of runs, the entire game freezes for a second (including movies on the screens in hangar view), but the number doesn't change. Is this normal? In this case I'm trying to increase the runs on a combat scanner probe BPO from 3 to 4. Is this not possible?

Typing "10" into the field allows me to increase ME research to 10 for this BPO.

Clicking "Post" on the forums sends me back to the empty "Post a reply" form.

I have a feeling there's something rotten in the state of Denmark.

The Crius expansion was well named.

It's so buggy, I regularly shed a quiet tear in frustration using the industry window. Just the same as the forum.
