Hey guys, I open this thread, I took several days trying to solve a problem with my hotkeys, it may seem / be I'm not very smart, but I could not locate an a solution, so if someone know any way to solve the problem you would be grateful.

This is the issue: If I therefore selected a key as hotkey "aproach", "orbit" or "keep range", pressing these hotkeys do not work like buttons "selected item" window, they force me to hold the key and click target in the overview. (In the window buttons it makes directly to objetive or selected as highlighted in the overview.

as I can make the hotkeys work just like the button on the window "select item"? ? ?

Thanks in advance to those who collaborate here.

Bots..... they will blot out the sun. Making keystrokes too easy means programming them is even easier. We dont like this here....Twisted

There are a ton of things I would LOVE CCP to create for shortcuts and issues that I realize would only make the botting easier. Which sucks for me as I hate bots but want shortcuts.Big smile

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

I have orbit and keep at range mapped to my mouse. I have to hold down the button and select an object to execute the command on. It's a two step process for me.
Hope that helps.

Ok
Now I got it, ccp change the mechanics of these hotkeys for botting be more difficult.
But that complicates a lot the way I play kiting, I need to move my mouse quickly from one place to another and Click in too many places too small, makes it really difficult to combat.
When I had to be pressing for overloading a module, change type of ammunition, scrip ammo, or reactivate a module that ran out of energy, I have to move the mouse to the other end of the screen to click my opponent or the button of "Sellec item" from orbit, aproach or keep range ...

This makes me be a pilot of poor quality, when it should be better driver because my ship should be able to manage with greater comfort and speed.

Have you considered using the radial menu?

Honestly no.

But I do not see a reasonable option because it would be trying clicking a moving target in the screen, it is not an asteroid, in my case it would be to click a target that is orbiting or which orbits and keep the range at high speed .

I appreciate your contribution but in my particular case would not be what I call a happy idea.

The radial menu works on the overview. No need to click a moving target on your screen. I think it also works on the locked target icons as well.

Unfortunately this is how hotkeys are intended to work. It's an utterly horrible system and those that say it makes it harder for a bot is simply false. It makes no difference to a programmer that hotkeys work in this fashion. The only thing it makes difficult is for us the actual customers using them.

Are some different ways of doing things, but it is causing me the same problem ... Time and continue moving the mouse around the screen.

Well the rest of pilot ahve the same problem, but that not make me happy.
I want to be better player and better pilot, i like the thing ppl telling in this thread, i waiting for someone with a best choice.

Hotkeys could be better, but you'd have rioting without the ability to ctrl+massclick overview/broadcast history/watch list to target.

Only thing that really bothers me is the way they stop functioning entirely when some windows have focus.
