I received a response to my tickets. The locked asset safety can as depicted in the screenshot in my OP is actually not a "real" asset safety wrapper/can, it's empty. It displays like it does as part of a known issue that is actively being worked on and (I assume) be resolved soon.

That can mean 3 things:

- those assets never existed
- those assets were in a can but are already redeemed and it's simply a ghost
- the assets are still impounded but it's showing them in the wrong container so you can't redeem them, they are however still impounded. just not in THAT container


Did you or the GM figure out which it is?

How about - it's part of a known issue - as Greygal wrote?

As for useless, yes seems so. If you think there are only 3 options for bugs to do with this, that is quite useless. really. If you then insist that it's 'probably' one of those 3, then that's even worse than useless because:

1. 'assets never existed': that wouldn't be a bug; and certainly wouldn't involve Greygal trying to redeem aseets that were never owned. +1 for useless possibility

2. 'assets already redeemed': Did you even read Grey's OP? +1 more for useless possibility. She's much smarter then that

3. 'assets still impounded in a different container': So go ahead genius and asnwer Grey's question of how to obtain them. One final +1 for useless possibility based on no actually insight into the code.

OP didn't state if the items shown as impounded were given back by the GM or not, which means we don't know if they actually existed or already were redeemed... or not. Because of not knowing what happened that leaves several options.

1) there's been database issues before where items appeared or disappeared that shouldn't. That could very well be the issue and thus the GM would not have returned the items simply because they never actually existed.

2) regardless of being sure an asset was already redeemed, if it still shows one we and the OP normally will assume it exists, especially if you also tried relogging or clearing cache. That has nothing to do with being smart, it has to do with expecting the game to get it right.

3) OP being (un)able to solve that issue, would it be the case, doesn't in any way affect the validity of the question if it's the case in the first place. Just because it's "an empty container" doesn't mean there can't be a full container with the items that simply isn't getting listed.


Again, we don't know if the items actually existed and were given back by the GM or not. The GM might have explained, however briefly, what the issue was. Which is what I'm interested in.
