Possibly tweaking the Retriever and Mackinaw so that it has a Role bonus ?

Just looks like they are changing hard points to match the new graphical design. Hardly news worthy really.

No it isn't done. Not all barges/exhumers have 2 hard points yet. They haven't changed them yet. The models have been updated but not the actual fitting stats.

So what now? I guess, that's what will happen.

The graphics don't yet fit the highslots.

Here is a Skiff just now:

2 available hardpoints on the new graphics, but only 1 hardpoint available for fitting.

In the video linked above, the Skiff will have 2 hardpoints (@11:40) like this

That is, the graphics of the ships have been updated, but not the fitting capabilities yet.

That is what is still to come, as per the text in the image you linked in the OP.

The other option is I have a bug to report as my Skiff still only fits 1 turret and my Coveter fits 3 still.

Ok, i will check that. I always see 2 lasers on my skiffs, but if they have 2 visible modules... ?

I have both a Skiff and a Hulk. In the fitting window, both can fit a maximum of two strips. The models of both show two strips. It all matches right now.

Or maybe, just maybe, they are throwing in new Strip Miner models to the game. Cilinder shaped and with whriling parts and neon lights. If that's the case, "balancing" is a poor choice of words.
