I just wanted to thank CCP and their GM's they have working for them, yesterday they made my wife's day. My wife started playing Eve on Friday for the first time ever, lots of coaching and help from me she is really enjoying the game. Yesterday while I was at work she was mining away in her little mining Frigate that she earned running the opening missions.

When a GM (I don't remember his name) started a conversation with her, asking if she was new and if she had any questions to just ask by mailing him. This just tickled her pink LOL =) that small act has pretty much solidified a sub from her.

Thanks again!

Tell her I said "Fly safe and have fun".

...and make sure she knows to watch her back. We tend to be a rough crowd sometimes...most of the time...okay, just assume we will always be ***-hats.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

In the spirit of EVE, you should take your wife out and gank someone. You can make it romantic and do it by candlelight, or a flaming rifter if a candle is not available.

Yes, get a pod pointed and have a long chat,

"You shoot him honey"

"No YOU shoot him sweetie"

"Aw you are so nice, but you should get your first pod kill"

"It's ok honey, I give the pod kill for you <3"

"Baby, his pod belongs to you, as my heart belongs to you"

"I feel so loved <3, is it possible to divide the corpse so we can carry half each in our cargo when we roam together?"

Etc, etc.

Make sure you do this chat in local :D

Yes it is a GM. The GMs have been doing this for a while now, well over a year now to random newbies. Ive rolled new accounts and had the GM surprise convo. Everytime my heart jumps as I think Ive done something wrong and am about to get the banhammer till I realize it.Lol

Anyone with a "GM" tag and the blue or whatever text is official and impersonating one is a HUGELY bannable offense.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

I had this experience myself, when I started.

In true EVE fashion, even in my embryonic state, I told this very kind and patient CCP employee I'd "heard" about this game and asked him very pointedly just exactly how was I to know he wasn't some sort of scammer trying to take advantage of me? He very kindly explained to me how this was handled.

I still don't know which impressed me more at the time, how patient he was at my words or that CCP actually contacted new players, cause that I certainly wasn't expecting.

Don't tell her that EVE is all about cruelty, lies and violence. For now.

She has watched me play this game off and on for a while, so she knows its about cruelty, lies and violence and she still is enjoying the game =)

They've been doing it since at least 2009, I had a GM convo me within an hour of creating my first character to see how I was doing.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

He would help her more by ganking her.

(For those who dont are into forum warrioring: CCP once showed a research they made showing that ganking increases player retention. But I dont believe that.)

"Yes, get a pod pointed and have a long chat," <- this, yes so much this.

one of my alts is a female character and for whatever reason I don't really broadcast that fact that they're both me. And to further confuse things I frequently have conversations, fights and what not between two of my toons. Mostly entertaining but sometimes I let it get uncomfortable. Which provides even more LOLZ for the pilots that do know.

I will SO do this the next time I have a POD in my claws.

I had a GM approach me in 2013 when i created this character to ask me things.
And back in 2011 i had a trial character and a GM contact that one as well. (i thought it was a chat bot though Ugh)

Ha ha, same here. I created a trial account a week ago and was contacted on Saturday. It was definitely positively surprising and interesting.

Well, yesterday I subscribed for a year. And even if I dropped the game at some point, the money is well-deserved in my opinion.
(A shame they are introducing F2P though since I've never experienced it done right in an MMO. I do sincerely hope it works out and helps bring the game more players (and money)).
