So i've been reading that CCP is going to make a new FPS replacement for Dust 514 for PC. I'm trying to wrap my head around what kind of game it will be.

I hope they allow players to transfer their EVE online players to this new FPS and Allow your character to get the best of Both Worlds. i mean think about it. An experienced Pilot and grunt on the ground? that would be pretty epic. i mean linking your EVE online account with this NEW FPS since its platform is going to be computer. I love FPS's. i wish planetside didn't lose its luster but to play a game that also influences your EVE online game would just be an awesome idea. THOUGHTS?

Transferring a character that specializes in flying ships would not benefit you in an FPS environment. Might as well ask CCP to allow you to apply ship skins to your FPS character.

I played the pre-alpha at Fanfest. It plays pretty much like you would expect from a generic shooter. There wasn't anything special about it though. Just (admittedly smooth) PC FPS combat in a setting that resembles New Eden if you happen to look at your surroundings for 2 seconds.

I love that it's coming to PC and if it's going to be Free to Play it might even have a bigger audience than Dust had, but honestly I don't see how it's going to seriously compete with any other shooter out there. Guess we'll see how it ends up.

Pc has failed in every other thing they have tried.

The main question is why o why did they pull funding for world of darkness. Yet green light dust which was derp and thdn o lets jow do the same crap for pc that will defp 2. Valkure is good fun but on a vr macbine thats overpriced and under used. Aint gona hit big time.

I honestly belive they missed a massive thing letting world of darkneas go

Stop bagging for a other game let them focus on the game the have and still running before everything is dead. Thanks for understanding.

I kinda miss dust What? still have it installed on my PS3

Would be pretty awesome if it was a seamless transition from being a Capsuleer to a merc but that's probably not very realistic. Looking forward to their new shooter though

An eve vet who's only been playing EVE for past 13 years vs. a hardcore FPS player in his teenage playing CCP's FPS for the first time.

My bet would be on the latter to stomp all over the eve vets not used to FPS ;)

Why do people bother hoping such things? Or, are you volunteering to fund this project?

I tried to fire from orbit at DUST players once.

When I realised I couldn't I just thought "That's not very EVE."
Promptly SD'd and never let DUST crowd my thoughts again.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.
