Remember the Alpha State players will be racially locked and they may not be considering which cruiser they want to fly when making that choice. The end game ship for Alpha State will be SoCT Gnosis battlecruiser. They can all fly that and CCP seems willing to maintain supply to keep them affordable.

You do not need any battlecruiser skills to fly Gnosis - Spaceship Command level 1 is the only skill requirement and new characters start with that. http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Gnosis. The ship is currently selling for 49.8 million ISK in Jita - in line with other T1 battlecruisers. With every account that remains subscribed between September and November getting one as a present the price won't be going back up for a while.

Oh. People are selling their free Gnosises in anticipation of the great giveaway coming up. This won't last long.

Fleets of Alphas in battlecruisers...you had me goin' there for a second.

Also if your looking to get an edge on the market consider what alpha clones can actually use the hope the f2p brings in the masses, but always remember what is given away in tutorials and don't build that, I suspect alpha toons will be mostly combat and some Indy work, I myself am looking at a low sec alpha runner

Very true, at this point nothing is perfectly clear, by guessing this makes us a bunch of talking heads, your best profit isn't in a finshed product but the raw goods to make them.

There are many a high sec corps building capital ships parts, etc, they often need to buy resources off the market because of the lack of personal to carry out the quick aspersions of the CEO's and Corp goals, by understanding this need you will profit well if you take the time it takes to get said resources.

I found selling to citadel's with low tax rates better then selling at NPC stations, I saved 2 mil by doing this on a sale, every ISK counts when profit is the goal.

If you are attempting to build subcaps for profit you're doing it wrong.

The influx of customers is going to bring with it a corresponding influx of raw material from both legit alphas and all the mining alts ever. Anyone who doesn't currently have a mining alt because they don't want to plex one... now has a disposable frig miner.

Not everyone will choose to do so, but people that already mine are going to be mining that much harder, and many people that don't mine because they can't spare the slot will likely start topping off their mineral needs with alphas.

T1s require minerals that can be mostly mined in sufficient amounts just by setting a venture to orbit rocks while you do whatever else it is you normally do in EVe or watch TV or whatever. Heck I've been hisec belt mining in cheap ventures at work with my gas toon for years and I haven't bought a t1 cruiser or lower in as much time because I can pretty easily churn out all the ratting boats I'll ever need by simply alt-tabbing once an hour and refining at the end of the day.

If you want the truth, you really can't/shouldn't commit to any of them.

See, CCP likes to play shellgames... where they get players to skill in one direction then 6 months down the road they do a 'rebalance' and quickly nerf said direction and OP another direction, leading players to need another 6 months to skill up to par for the 'current meta'.

So, moral is don't plan on much in Eve aymore. The entire game will be changed 3-6 months down the road from any given point in time. The days of expecting a stable game with a solid knowledge base where long-term plans could be made are LONG gone.
