CCPlease can we get a second dread

So I have got an alt that only has missiles skills trained as I wanted to make him missiles only pilot. I'm now getting to a point where I should really start thinking about training him in to a dread, and of course my obvious choice would be phoenix. Now, there is nothing wrong with phoenix, I'm sure it's a perfectly good boat, but seems to be only really viable in shield fleets. Not to say that people have not used them in armor fleets, but it's not a dedicated armor missile ship if you will and that annoys. It annoys probably more than it should!

If you look at four main factions, you can see that they like to use two different weapon systems when arming their ships and this can be seen from frigates all the way to battleships. So why don't dreads have same versatility?

So please CCP can you add a second dread to represent the secondary weapon chosen by each race? Then dedicated missile pilots like me can train in to ammar dread to have a dedicated armor missile dread or minmatar dread to have cookie cutter shield/armor dread. Alternatively hybrid turret pilots can train in to caldari dread to have a shield hybrid dread.

Or maybe now is the time to expand your skills and train guns? Drones and go for carrier? Pray for a mordus legion dread or a gurista one?

4. Aren't citadel missiles so ******* useless that a titan can speed tank them just by going 50m/s?

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

Not anymore. They got rebalanced a while back. They're still ****, but now they can at least hit stuff. And with the new HAW weapons, the Phoenix actually makes a good anti support ship.

Besides for a few niche cases, the Phoenix is hands down the worst dread due to application. Siege prevents remote assistance, so most people do not care about mixing dreads with shield and armor tank.

A second dread, the way you have described, wouldn't add anything to the game. Once you have one dread reasonably skilled, cross training isn't really so bad, so you actually are pretty flexible. The Phoenix being so bad right now basically saves you training time already - takes like a few days at most to get the per-requisite racial BS 3 to start an off racial dread.

Large [Gun] V, very much preferably with damage application support skills. That's a month and a half at least.

Actually completely missed that part! Yes, in that case it doesn't matter at all.

Still would be nice to see some hul and weapon system variations when it comes to dreads, but I guess they have more pressing issues to work on at the moment.

The only thing I can see for another missile boat is a Sanshas dread that is basically a HAM Legion idea in a dread hull designed to kill subcaps thats nicely expensive and does **** poor damage to the same class or larger hulls. Moreso than the HAW pheonix for damage application to smaller platforms.

But would it add much to the game? Naw not really but its the only kinda niche thats imo available for any dread out there that hasnt been filled well for a missile platform.

what role would the carry?

the current line of Dreadnoughts is based around capital warfare and structure bashing.

however, there could be a second line of Dreads based around antisubcap warfare. with bonus for HAW weapons.

now in terms of guns the only way i can think of that is:

-Amarr = Armor + Missiles (the only secondary weapon platform for them outside of drones)

-Caldari = Shield + Hybrids (probably an emphasis on railguns)

-Gallente = Armor + Hybrids (cant give drones when we have carriers, it could field a flight of each drone size but still......)

-Minmatar = Shield + Missiles (i think it will become Phoenix 2.0, but again, their secondary is missiles, with drones being a niche pick among their ships. and the Naglfar already covers projectiles)

its hard to not repeat weapons...

The amarr like the HAM Legion. Could ironically give best bonuses with Blood raiders style AB fit while NOT in siege. Or use a "shoot and scoot" style AB/MJD/Siege module combo with reduced siege length. Can MJD or AB with increased velocity for 5 mins after siege cycle ends.

Caldari with rail HAW bonus and bonuses kinetic sentries for extreme range. Caldari sentries are most unused sentries and if given range and dps bonus evenly split with HAW weapons with same style bonus would create an interesting dynamic based on typical caldari bonus.

Gallente with light, medium and heavy drone bonus and HAW blaster dps bonus. Adding sentries is a bad idea imo and a return to the sentry heavy doctrine ideas of the past. Make the other drones slower and more fragile but hit harder. Short range web bonus like vindi but way less, perhaps a bonus to the stasis grappler instead.

Minnie with shield, missiles and stasis grappler web range bonus to increase application for missile damage and target painters.
