Amarr COSMOS problem - stuck

So, I was doing some Amarr lvl4 COSMOS because I need to raise standings to 7... namely the one that gives you the one-time Bastion key. I'm following this guide, which says to be extra careful in the last room. I get the Apocryphon and then go for the generator, thinking it could not be much worse than many missions, complexes or anomalies my trusty Tengu has faced before... Right? Wrong. Damn webbers get hold of me, javelin missiles take too long to kill them and I stupidly waste time killing a battleship. My tank doesn't hold and I warp out, and thank Bob I wasn't warp scrambled, or I'd be a Tengu short by now.

Then I get to Zimse for the other guy who gives the Bastion key, but turns out that I already did that mission in the past, even if I honestly don't remember any of it. Could it be that a mission is flagged as done even if it isn't? I petitioned that, let's see what the GM answers.

Long story short, I lost my Bastion key and can't recover it. What should I do? If the standing hit for letting the mission expire is not that bad, I could just let it go.

I have had a mission reset once. Due to something not dropping. It has been so long.

Point is, resetting the mission is a possibility. There is hope.

Also...Can you go in to your standings tab. Select the agent and show transactions? That might give you an idea if you had previous contact. Not sure how far back the transaction log goes.

Transaction logs don't go back very far. Best way to see if you've run a Cosmos Agent is to open up the Agents info box, select the 'Standings' tab, scroll down and view the Agents personal standing towards you. If it's neutral number 0.00 standing, then the agent should be available if you have the correct amount of Faction standing. If it shows a positive or negative number, then you've accessed that agent in the past.

As for the 'Bastion Master Key', you were supposed to get it first from Agent Ormon Parsik (Level 3 - Security - Theology Council) check if you've already have standing with him. Also check your assets and look in all containers and ship cargoholds for the key. If you don't have it, check public contracts and see if it's available to purchase.

Hopefully CCP will give you the key, definitely ask for mission reset.

EDIT :

I ran the Amarr Cosmos years ago with that same guide and even updated it with info. It's a good guide and should still be fairly accurate.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I resubbed just a week ago, so none of my logs go further than that. The lvl 2 agent was added to my address book the moment I opened a conversation with him, which as far as I know happens only when you first contact an agent, so it should be the first time. I hope a GM will reset the mission for me.

Need more well-formatted linking.

I recently asked for my cosmos missions to be reset as I made a hash of them in the past and did things in the wrong order so now cannot really complete anything. I was turned down. You may have better luck as you are only asking for 1 mission, if they turn it down then you have a couple of choices as far as i can tell

1: buy the item on contract
2: use another toon to take the mission, fleet up with the toon that you are wanting the item for and do the mission again, yo will of course need two accounts (unless you can do it on a trial). the downside to this is that you block off that chain for your other toon.

Just wanted to let you know that I did the mission, and the one after, no problem at all now that I knew what to expect... damn elite frigates decided to scramble instead of webbing me, which is way better tank-wise.
