So just to be clear, does this mean you think CCP are doing the right thing with their recent efforts to nerf ganking and bumping?

I'm glad we agree.

I'm glad we agree.

I doubt we agree on much at all.

As usual you've leapt the grand canyon to draw your illogical rubbish from a snippet someone else wrote.

As far as what I think about CCP, they are free to do what they want and it's up to all of us to adapt. Change keeps the game interesting, but those that continually cry about other players gameplay choices are a complete waste of space.

There's nothing illogical about it. Your claim suggested you believe CCP know what they are doing, thus you must agree that by nerfing ganking and bumping they know what they are doing.

I completely agree with you again! You are correct, CODE continually crying about how "the carebears" play the game are absolutely a waste of space. See, we agree on loads of things!

You agree completely and then immediately cry about other players.

You could fill Lake Titicaca Tearicaca with all the crying you do.

In what universe was that crying? Lol. Ridicule != tears.

CCP has already stated that, funny enough, people who get ganked within the first 2 months of playing, are not quitting the game.

Shot and asploded, maybe, not necessarily just ganking.
Maybe the people who venture beyond hisec and get wrecked are just the sort who'll stay with the game and all gankers and people getting ganked in hisec are irrelevant.
Stats need interpretation, but for now Lucas Kell can fill out this stupid code shill thread with a silly argument.

The majority of gankers are afraid of null sec so just join a nullsec corp/alliance. They don't do well when someone is firing back.

OP, congratulations on your purchase of a new permit, and hopefully they keep their promise and not attack you for the duration. Though sometimes they do.

In any case, don't feel bad that you had to post the link to their ****** website on the forums; it's a requirement of buying a permit, and we'll call you all sorts of names for a while but then it'll pass. It's a good start to the process of getting used to the shame of having given in to an extortion racket.

So I was trotting along in my shuttle the other day minding my own business in Highsec space when I was blasted by this mob.

Apparently I didn't have a " permit " to mine this system, (that was kind of funny as I wasn't even mining just passing through ). Anyway since I haden't paid this extortion racket mob some isk they destroyed me. I have been playing on and off for years and I have run into this once or twice before but for new player just trying to start out in the game this is a terrible thing. I have been hearing lots the last year or so about EVE's player numbers dwindling and must say I have noticed it myself as there seem to be far fewer pilots in space these days. Anyway it didn't bother me as I only lost a shuttle and a few implants but this kind of action will only hasten the games demise as new players are being preyed upon by these thugs just as they are starting out.

They more things change, the more things stay the same. That is a very old saying, but like most old saying, it's grounded in the truth.

Years ago it was Goons who were the root of all evil. Every third post on these forums back then was about how goons were bad people IRL and they were killing the game (the game that was growing then) and CCP better do something about them for the sake of new players (though it was NEW PLAYERS complaining on the forums, it was veteran high sec players complaining about their losses) etc etc.

But then I'd see Goons in game as I was almost always in a group opposed to them (Atlas, IT, NcDot, Raiden etc) and I saw how they weren't invincible, they exploded like everyone else, and they weren't worth fearing or even talking about that often. I lost exactly one shuttle to a Goon ganking Thrasher in all my years of playing in high sec. I came to realize that all the forum complain about goons was just hot are coming from mentally impotent people who would rather be victims of something than fight back or at least pay attention to the game they were playing..

Well, nothing has changed. The boogeyman is just CODE now rather than Goons, because it seems the complaining types need something big to fear/hate. CODE is nothing more than a group of people sitting in front of their computers playing a video game and taking advantage of the mental and emotional inadequacies of other people playing the same video game. If one fills in the holes of those mental and emotional inadequacies (not unlike filling in a Resist Hole on a ship you pilot in game), you soon find out that you are immune to the actions and words of CODE.

Why that doesn't happen in game is the same reason it doesn't happen IRL: self reflection and taking responsibility for one's own outcomes is hard, blaming others is easy, even though blaming others leads to even more victimisation...

I'm a hi-sec carebear, or so I have been told.

Recently however, I've been doing a bit of lo-sec mining and I am starting to wonder where it's more risky. Hi-sec with the likes of CODE or lo-sec where, to my amazement most of the systems are empty. I just align, watch local and check out any arrivals, if they look dodgy I just leg it. If I can do that in lo-sec or run the risk of a random attack in hi-sec I know where I'll feel more comfortable.

Perhaps noobies would be better off doing their training and heading out from hi-sec.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......
