Some people are afraid it will be a bunch of idiots posting links to porn sites all day long, or some idiots posting stupid things every day. I was more optimistic and think there will be not only people like that.

Just some "player" feedback to CCP, make players pay to post on the forums, you'll make more money. The secret is letting people believe their feedback is important...

Not to put too fine a point on it, but you seem to be suffering from that same delusion. The real forum is on reddit. Who cares if alphas can post here?

That said: Just use your common sense. Of course Alphas will be able to post on the forums. The objective is to get more subbs... banning alphas from the forums would just alienate new players. Trust me, CCP can afford focus groups to figure this smack out.

Good point but over the years I've learned EvE online is mostly about ego and if you aren't posting on the official forum you aren't relevant. Which leads to reddit is poorman's forum and poor/cheap people aren't important. And that leads to provoking of poor/cheap people who can't respond, right? That alone will make people pay for a sub just to respond to my banter. #logic

Then you are playing a different game than me. Anything prefaced with "EvE online is about" makes me go a big rubbery one. The only way to be "relevant" is in game. No one became relevant in the forums. Hell the forums themselves aren't relevant. I didn't even visit them for the first 3-5 years... because who cares? Make your mark in-game. Reddit isn't relevant either, but at least the nazi's aren't running it. There's good information there... and there's good info here too. EvE isn't a forum game, though. It's a spaceship game. If you aren't doing it from your spaceship you are not relevant.
