Yes I would still play because it wouldn't really affect my playstyle. I'm not a massive fan of PvP, and I enjoy PvE more

As a dyed in the wool PvE bear I'd be outta here like a shot, that others can interfere in what I do is what makes the PvE interesting.

Farming the environment is PvE, getting away with it despite the efforts of other players is PvP.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

So basically a way worse version of Diablo 3? No demand created for items, endless PvE grind with no real goal and a fairly simple combat system? Yeah, I'd switch to Diablo for the flashy effects and get bored within 2 weeks of playing, just like I did when that game was released.

EvE without PvP is a really bad PvE game.

EvE without PvP is a really bad trade/industry game, since no demand for items is created.

The whole player based market relies on creating demand. Asset destruction creates this demand and the PvE is too easy so almost no one lose stuff to NPCs.

Nope. I'd quit outright, along with 80% of the playerbase (not actual stats)

I would quit. If it was to happen suddenly I'd file a petition to have my subscription refunded also.

I'm not sure I can answer without knowing more. I mean when you think about it PvP is just PvE with more awesome AI. But of course I'd need to know how CCP was planning to up the NPCs to make up the deficit.

What would be the point? You describe SISI which hardly has any players except for AT practice and mass tests.

However, it's only a matter of time till certain "One Note Only" characters show up and turn this into a CODE/ganking/bumping thread.

Oh gawk, you're probably right about that. Heads up, paragraphs of sermons might be incoming.

Well, that was to be expected.

Most of the usual PvP supporters have posted here so the thread can now be closed.

And yeah, if Eve was all PvE I'd actually play more.

No I would not play and I would not have started playing. No Man's Sky is a great example of this I think? What hooked me in this game is a series of events that lead me to doing missions out in nullsec, which was very challenging sort of a Pvp/Pve hybrid because you have to be on your toes a lot more than in high sec which makes it exciting. The art of running away is all you can really do as a newbie and it was the only thing that kept me subscribed. The skill training curve is very bad in this game to be honest so no serious PvP player can just pick Eve up and enjoy it unless they learn to buy a character immediately. They have to be a creative type that knows how to invent their own fun without being able to do **** in straightforward FPS style right off the bat. Waiting a year to be able to be effective solo is absurd no one wants to deal with that so Eve has this community of hoary neckbeards that prey on newbies and get off on it but they probably couldn't maintain that ego boost in a real PvP game.

Here's the deal - I don't think of PvP as different from PvE. It's just a very smart variable. I wish that PvE was somewhat more protected in Eve because it breaks the realism in certain areas. People should not be able to just "get away with" white collar crime like they do, they should not be able to maintain these silly wardecs on anyone they like. Imagine that in the real world it would NEVER work.

So there are things I would tweak to make it more believable but PvP is fun and even if you are not doing PvP it makes the Pve more exciting.

Eve has serious power creep issues and that always kills games. Skill boosters help it some but only inexperienced players fall for that trick especially after experiencing the fallout of some of these P2P games from Asia...it makes Eve look really bad to pros who do not believe much in paying for a game for any reason whatsoever after the initial purchase.

I think the thing keeping Eve going right now is the filthy casuals like myself who can afford to float a couple of subs for a year and who know enough about CCP to trust that their investment isn't going to go the way of most Asian games. Asia is going to kill its game market if it has not already because a crop of fresh gullible people takes about a decade to mature...

One of the most difficult things I had to adapt to in WoW was the lack of risk.

Being able to lose stuff again was one of the most important features when switching from WoW to EVE.

So the answer is no. Even though I'm mostly carebearing Big smile I wouldn't play EVE if there was no PvP.

I have never purposely looked for pvp in my 13 years of playing and do avoid it if at all possible but like others have already said, I would no longer play Eve if pvp was removed, Eve without pvp would be pointless.

Whomever is making the last few years decisions on what changes are to be implemented in this game, must hate Eve with all their being.
