New Crusader turret hardpoints

Let's talk about the Crusader hull rework.

While the new design is sick as hell, there is one glaring problem.

The ship is designed with 5 hardpoints in mind. This is what happens when you fit a full rack of 4 guns:

The last set of turrets is asymmetrical without a usable 5th turret hardpoint.

CCPlease, this renders an otherwise beautiful ship literally unplayable unusable.

Proposed solutions:

  • Change the order in which the hardpoints are filled to get the asymmetrical pair first
  • Fill up both asymmetrical pairs of hardpoints when fitting the fourth turret
  • Give the Crusader a 5th highslot and turret hardpoint. <-- Obviously the best solution

all ship models are built with 8 turret and 8 missile hard points in mind

with that said i really wish ccp would "ghost" turrets on more ships to make them look nicer

Someone Actually Zooms in far enough to see the turrets?

I do...

Also it might be possible to use different hardpoints to get the guns to line up where you want them... my old missioning kronos had guns in slots 1, 2,5, 8 or something to get them to line up right on the model and not be ugly as balls

What kind of justification is this for faulty 3D model design? Do you ever really use your hull tank on ships other than Gallente ships? Since you do not, would it matter if the hull HP were off by a couple hundred units? Or what about the capacitor usage on Citadel modules? Does it matter if their values don't match up with actual capacitor use just because you never really fully use the capacitor of the citadel? Your line of thought is disturbing.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Apparent faulty 3D Model design has no effect on actual gameplay whereas your other listed items do, the 3D model is entirely a cosmetic thing, just like skins.

If you do not use the capacitor of a Citadel all the way down, it doesn't really have an effect. Same for the hull. Besides, proper placement of weaponry has an effect on gameplay. It was not so long ago that certain missiles fired facing away from the target from a big ship had a shorter range than missiles fired from the other side facing towards the target. The entire argument against fixing this oversight is moot, however, because the Crusader and Malediction have dedicated spots for weapons and these should be used for displaying the turret models.

You're in a small fight. You want to know what a target of interest is doing a little faster than watching zoomed out would tell you.
Edit: and some modules have graphical effects when turned on, like tracking computers, sensor boosters, armor and shield hardeners and boosters. If you can deal more than one type of damage (projectiles) or mix (void/conflag), watching for the armor shell or shield bubble to light up can give you a pretty good idea of what resist hole you should be shooting through.

Most of what you have listed you can see when the turrets are maybe 1 or 2 pixels in size. which is a fairly common zoom. What they're describing is EXTREME CLOSE UP :P
