The 118.8 release brings us lots of high quality visual updates - redesign of several frigate sized hulls and new visual effects -, a rebalance of the mining barges/exhumers, and an exciting new Purity of the Throne event related to the coronation of the new Empress. We also will get a large amount of general improvements and bug fixes.

There don't appear to be any sigs in my WH, a C3-LS

I see only one strip mining laser on my skiffs working.

Different ones on different accounts.

Doing what Amarr Empire asks gives a standing loss with Amarr Empire. In other words, participating in the Purity of the Throne event is quite detrimental towards the Amarr Empire faction standing: 2,4% standing loss per BC...

Why is my Amarr empire standing getting nuked by 2.4% for each battlecruiser I kill FOR THE AMARR EMPIRE! I'm quite fortunate to have diplomacy 5 already, but someone who doesn't notice is going to get locked out of amarr space pretty quickly.

Standing loss seems to be -2.4% for only the final NPC kill, the one with the loot.

I've heard a fix might be not putting the computer in to sleep/hibernation while the launcher is open.

Now, even if you shut down your computer using Windows 8/10 this is still technically a hibernation due to how Windows does it's fast boot up. You can either close the launcher before you shut down your computer for the day, or disable hibernation by opening a command prompt (open start menu -> type "cmd" -> right click command prompt, run as administrator), and type "powercfg.exe /hibernate off" or "powercfg -h off".

Alternatively (and this his how I shut down my computer), you can shut the computer down by running the command "shutdown -s" either through the command prompt or the run dialogue (Windows key + R). This will shut down your computer 30 seconds after the command is issued without going through the hibernation step. Your computer may take slightly longer to boot up, but you avoid some issues that the new fast boot causes (for example, my desktop loses all network connectivity until you restart it). You can also append -t 0 to shut the computer down immediately without waiting 30 seconds. If you don't normally use the run dialogue, the command will stay in the dialogue box so you can simply run it in the future by pressing Win + R + enter to bring up the box and immediately run the command.

In any case, shutting down my computer in this manner is how I normally do it, and the launcher has never forgotten my account information.

This is not good!

And it is not final ship either, as one of those was a frigate in one plex, one was a BC in another plex.

Who on earth thought it was a good idea to give a massive Amarr standings loss for defending the Amarr empire?

A single site needs 16 missions and an average storyline mission to just recover from that site, assuming one is still able to enter Amarr space. Or if you get materials for war 32 missions plus two storylines, crippling other faction standings, so you need to balance the other faction standing, so 64 missions! But wait there's more! Those cripple amarr in turn! So you need to do.... Eyes glaze over and logs off.

Now someone may have thought it fun to troll the entirety of players who ever enter Amarr space, and I am sure wormholers, low and nullsec players will be delighted to run endless missions to recover from this debacle, if they ever want to have access to more than just their homes...let alone the horrific damage you have just inflicted on Hisec players.

But it's no problem if one wishes to park ones main unsub it, and only fly alpha clones, because this event will be finished by then and they won't be screwed over. That's nice /s

Or possibly it is a simple mistake by someone who doesn't know how soul destroying it is to grind back standings.

This "fun" event is like a funpark who puts razor blades on the slides.
