Turret Tracking + MWD Sig Bonuses

Hi all, I'm trying to work out what changes there have been to turrets in the last few years.

When I was last playing turrets had a signature resolution and tracking stats that seem to have been replaced with a 'weapon accuracy score'. Does this mean there's been a change in the tracking formula?

I'm quite intrigued by the changes to MWD sig radius on interceptors, assault frigs and HAC's and wondering how this plays out. The only one I've had the chance to try is a crow which seems to be very survivable provided you keep transversal and speed up, but how useful are the AF and HAC bonuses in practice?

Going through zKillboard it seems that many people ignore the MWD bonus and use afterburners instead? Why is this? I know scrams kill a MWD these days so an AB gives range control within 10km, is this the primary reason or is there more to it?

Nothing has changed in terms of game mechanics, just ccp decided to give us a useless value to judge our tracking by which is calculated in some strange and unnecessary formula.

Icing on the cake is that there's no corresponding overview column to reference to the accuracy score so there's no point even bothering to look at them and just attempt to play by ear in the middle of the fight

seriously... i am still baffled how ccp could do this... some developers are clearly having no idea from their own game... it's so silly...

why not make up magic attributes of other stuff that have already perfectly legit values? i mean optimal and falloff along with speed mechinics are too complicated... and who uses the metrics system anyway? lets make it a range rating and speed rating. 125mm autocannons have a range rating of 5 for example. and a rifter has a speed rating of 28 while a megathron only has a speed rating of 8. think of the implications! even missiles can have a speed rating and a range rating!!!

and i am sure we don't have to stop there!

Guess I'll put the turret accuracy score down to one of those bizarre things computer games companies do sometimes.

Welcome to Eve, friend...bizarre development decisions are kind of run-of-the-mill here. Fortunately (and thankfully), many of us still have a sense of humor.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
