Citadel Question

Hi Guys

Trying to figure out Citadels and i can find plenty of info about fitting etc but not so much about using as a 3rd party.

My understanding is that the owners can set rules about who can and cant dock at a citadel. My question is what happens if you have things in your hanger and the permission gets changed to block you docking? Is it even possible?

Cheers

It's possible to block someone from docking, unsure what happens to their gear tho. I would imagine it stays inside the citadel until the player is allowed back in or the citadel explodes, but cannot say for sure. When a citadel blows up in hisec or low or nul the contents end up at the nearest station in a sort of care package box, but i doubt this will happen on a personal level or people would use the feature to transport stuff without having to undock it ;)

If you get blocked from docking, you can have your stuff moved to the closest NPC station. It does take some time for the items to be moved.

It also costs ISK to get it moved to an NPC station (via Asset Recovery). I think it's 10% of the total estimated value of the goods.

Only if the NPC station is in another system, or you forget to move the items before 20 days are up.

The first thing to do is to speak to the citadel owner. I've had situations where I've had to restrict access for security issues, but if people contact me with a genuine reason I can add them to a temporary access list for 24 or 48 hours so they can get their stuff out.

If that isn't going to happen you will need to invoke the Asset Safety process. This will involve a delay ( I believe 5 days but please check ) and sometimes a cost as mentioned above. However, CCP wanted to encourage citadel use so they made it that you don't actually lose stuff permanently.
